Kerry 2025. Warriors! Playing the Munster football final in Killarney and destroying the 2024 all ireland hurling champions football team, it must be very satisfying. History makers indeed!

A decision to be finalised in the next few weeks is whether the preseason tournaments make a return after a one year absence. The GPA are dead set against the competitions being brought back. Challenge games were being arranged however.
I wonder could there be common ground where the preseason tournaments could be run like the Railway Cup last year... 15 minute quarters sending a signal that these are more preseason challenge than full on competitive. The GPA say they need to be in official training 6 weeks before a competitive tournament starts. If 15 minute quarters can constitute that the league is still the start of competitive tournament, that might do the trick.
The GPA make the point that people are paying to watch preseason tournaments and that makes the competitive. People are paying to watch challenge games as well. That seems to avoid being labelled competitive! Anyways, one for Croke Park to sort out.

7 counties emerged from this year's league as strong All Ireland contenders. Defending champions always have a target on their backs. Just look at Armagh this year.
Tyrone will be strong. Plenty has been said about home league ground advantage. Donegal and Armagh will be strong. Galway and Mayo will challenge as well. Up to 10 counties could emerge from next year's league.

There won't be 10 counties capable of beating Kerry in a Senior Championship knockout game by the end of the League.

Recent All Ireland winners have emerged from the pack. Donegal, Dublin, Armagh and Galway were the favourites to get to the semi finals at the end of June. Tyrone then will be strong. Division 2 might work in their favour.

Kerry are capable of winning an AI in any particular year. You weren't one of 10 teams who only emerged at the end of the League

It seems Donegal's Michael Murphy is likely to return for an All-Ireland tilt next year. At least one of Donegal, Armagh or Tyrone will be travelling away to a provincial finalist in Round 1. Provincial winners could clash as early as Rounds 2A or 2B.

Paddy Power odds
Kerry - 6/4
Donegal - 7/1
Tyrone - 7/1
Armagh - 12/1
Dublin - 14/1
Galway - 14/1
Derry - 16/1
Mayo - 16/1

Cork, Down, Monaghan and Meath in that order - followed by Kildare, Louth and Roscommon,

Assuming those are correct, we are looking at
8 provincial finalists - Dublin, Kerry, Cork (now the draw has been rigged in their favor)
with Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Monaghan, Donegal, Armagh and Kildare all qualified already

Of the remainder

Tyrone, Meath and Derry should qualify

Leaving Louth, Cavan and Offaly hoping Kildare and Cork get relegated from Div 2 leaving them all in the SAM Maguire competition.

Down, Limerick and Clare will be hoping Kildare and Cork can avoid relegation, giving 2 spots to div 3 finalists.

Unlike Kerry who will have yet another handy run in a Hurling Province and win another provincial title to add to there ridiculous 86 Munster titles !! Time to move Kerry to Ulster -:)
