Replying To Lockjaw:  "I never really got the obsession with comparing hurling with football. Two vastly different sports. Hurling is way more helter-skelter than football and there are more one-on-one duals to win possession. Each to their own."
Hurling has a different problem with points scored at ease from all angles and distances. Maybe a 5-pts goal might cure this.

I wonder if the two-pts arc could be used 'in reverse' in hurling - a 2-pointer from 'inside the arc' after an Advanced Mark (a '40/40, akin to football's '45/20', but from inside the defensive arc to inside the attacking one, a puck of 65m or so).

It has been a great year of football. From the national football league, provincial championships, Tailteann Cup, All Ireland championship, county/club championships and on to provincial club championships - since the end of January to mid December we have been spoilt with great football. It has been absolutely fantastic. The poor hurling folk have had as much to cheer about. Football has rounded off 2025 as the top dog!
