I think Trim just have lost too many bodies due to emigration to win here. They are very strong at the back anchored by Toher but far too reliant on Murray up top Ratoath are not as good as people are making them out to be, I don't even think the kiltale teams of old had championships " handed to them" at this stage. As for the other semi final, an aging Kiltale team with I would say one last kick to beat an average Kilmessan team who are improving Meathgaalad (Meath) - Posts: 175 - 02/10/2025 13:43:45 2638255 Link 0 |
I give Trim every chance. An injury/code decision in there team might be a positive. (Ratoath will punish if they play their usual way)! Match ups important. Write them off at your own ignorance. It will take everyone and luck to beat this talented Ratoath team. Team who come out hungrier will win, not by a lot.

Went up to Trim for the IHC double headers. RR (Meath) - Posts: 185 - 04/10/2025 18:21:59 2638444 Link 0 |
Massive result for Kilskyre/Moylagh today. Will be great to have a relatively new name at senior next year between them and Rathmolyon. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1423 - 04/10/2025 18:42:44 2638449 Link 0 |
after today ratoaoth are definitley the real deal, cant see them beaten in final. they will win a few if they keep bringing through players , some power and skill across the field. 5 finals in 6 years is some going dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 892 - 05/10/2025 23:35:35 2638595 Link 0 |
Very disappointing last 10 mins for Trim. Well in it, perhaps even the slightly better team and then a 2-3 minute phase of two conceded goals and a red card and the game was gone. trimmer (Meath) - Posts: 561 - 06/10/2025 09:06:32 2638607 Link 1 |
Final score was definitely flattering. We got goals at the most opportune times, the second pulling the game back into our grasp with the third and fourth (along with the red card) pretty much finishing off Trim. Liking the ability of both our hurlers and our footballers to be able to get results from tight games. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1423 - 06/10/2025 16:00:49 2638701 Link 0 |
Funny game. I feel if Podge O Hanrahans goal didn't go in Trim would have won. Just shows when ratoath fire how strong they are. I don't think Kiltale will get within 10 of them. Hopefully they give Leinster a good rattle, Meath hurling needs it. Meathgaalad (Meath) - Posts: 175 - 06/10/2025 16:59:53 2638710 Link 1 |
Semi finals went as I thought, Ratoath are streets ahead of the rest at the moment. This happens every so often, Kilmessan, kildalkey and kiltale have all had their periods of dominance and it looks like it's Ratoath turn now. Tobefair80 (Meath) - Posts: 93 - 07/10/2025 16:04:34 2638856 Link 0 |
Ratoath are definitely ahead on paper and should beat Kiltale with a good performance but finals can be funny in that regard. Still expect Ratoath forwards to have too much firepower and to get over the line. Bar Trim, the gulf to the rest is fightening really. Kilmessan have improved in recent years but nowhere near beating the best teams at the business end of championship. Heard of the unrest in the camp also, many different managers have tried to work things out there but seem to come unstuck. Cannot always be the managements fault so perhaps a good look in the mirror might be a start, but at the minute they are in no-mans land. Can someone remind me how the championship structure is changing for 2026? hurlingcowboy101 (Meath) - Posts: 38 - 09/10/2025 09:48:15 2639025 Link 0 |
Whatever senior teams qualified for the 1/4 final this year Kilmessan Kildalkey Trim ratoath Kitale Na Fianna will compete in a standalone Senior A Championship next year. The remaining teams will compete in a Senior B Competiotn with the winner going up to Senior A the following year. Clann na Gael will be Intermediate and the winners of Kilskyre/ Moylagh and Rathmolyon will compete in Senior B next year.

That is a much better championship set up for next year. Reducing the hammering significantly. torres710 (Meath) - Posts: 29 - 10/10/2025 12:27:03 2639211 Link 0 |

Ideally top 2 in the final, but I've a bad feeling we'll end up with top 4 in the semi finals, which will render most of the group games a waste of time.

Think people very harsh on kilmessan , not far from getting relegated back to intermediate only a few years ago then to rise up and win a brendan davis cup in only a few years is progress , they should be able to compete with the top few teams again soon with more to come through , still a very young team. hurlit (Meath) - Posts: 437 - 10/10/2025 16:09:19 2639258 Link 0 |
Better option would be top team into final and 2nd and 3rd into a semi final. Bottom 2 to contest a relegation final. This should keep all games competitive. I do fear for Na Fianna next year as they could take some beatings. . Rickoshay (Meath) - Posts: 47 - 10/10/2025 16:11:12 2639259 Link 0 |
groups of 6 will surely add a bit of spice to it. It will benefit stronger teams as there should not be any pastings and more competitive games throughout. Not sure about very harsh on Kilmessan - their age profile is good and potential there, but should a few in their mid 20s go travelling / working / move on, then their depth is non-existent if reverting back to some of the old guard in the semi is anything to go by. They, like many, were stuck in senior B for years and it did none of those teams any favours. Blackhall, Dunboyne, Longwood, Clann na gael in the same boat where for various reasons, they have gone backwards hurlingcowboy101 (Meath) - Posts: 38 - 14/10/2025 15:14:40 2639965 Link 0 |
