My thinking was that there was no team relegated from intermediate A this year. So the B winners would stay there again till next year. Open to correction

Yes for one year for it to work B winners have to stay in B. It's not really unfair as every team knew this at the beginning of the year and winning the ' B' isn't as much as an achievement as it means they weren't good enough to be in the A. Next year winning the ' B' would mean a lot more Meathgaalad (Meath) - Posts: 179 - 20/10/2025 08:39:08 2640722 Link 0 |

My understanding was that the 6 teams who qualified for qtr/semi final in senior will be the Senior A group next year, Kiltale, Ratoath, Trim, Kilmessan, Na Fianna & Kildalkey, the the senior B group will be Killyon, Longwood, Navan O M, BHG, Dunderry with Moylagh Kilskyre promoted to Senior B. yes, super game. Conditions didn't lend itself to great quality and there was evidence of that with some of the handling / execution. But there were also plenty moments of massive skill on show. Thought Ratoath defence was too passive in 1st half and gave Kiltale forwards way too much respect. Allowed Hughie O sull to get up a head of steam and cause trouble. But going direct to their taller players paid dividends for Ratoath. Daithi McGowan was particularly effective at full forward. Kiltale's bench made an obvious impact and nearly got them over. Enjoyed the ref trying to let it flow, odd push and shove let go, slaps pulled up. All very fair imo. hurlingcowboy101 (Meath) - Posts: 39 - 20/10/2025 10:07:08 2640746 Link 0 |

We can never seem to do anything the easy way. Thought we had ground out the win when we were two up in injury time, then was sure we'd lost it with that scrappy goal only for Podge to come good. Was definitely expecting that Kiltale performance, they were being written off by everyone despite being very impressive ever since their first round loss (winning margins of 36, 18, 13, 14, 25 & 13 points since). Both teams served up an excellent game in difficult conditions and I feel the referee helped contribute to the spectacle as another referee could have let it descend into a free taking contest. Probably the fairest result but both teams could probably say they should have won. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1452 - 20/10/2025 10:25:42 2640756 Link 0 |

Congratulations to Kilskyre/Moylagh on their Intermediate victory on Saturday, where they played nearly three-quarters of the game with 14 men. Another near miss by Rathmolyon. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1452 - 20/10/2025 11:53:30 2640775 Link 0 |

What an absolute cracking game! I was out yesterday morning and the weather was awful and I was thinking we might even be looking at a postponement! But despite the weather this turned out to be an absolute belter! Compliments to the ground staff at Pairc Tailteann - the pitch held up very well!! Players biggest gripe with hurling in this county is the poor standard of refs ruining games by blowing the whistle for everything and not letting it get flowing at all. hurlit (Meath) - Posts: 442 - 20/10/2025 13:28:36 2640804 Link 0 |

He can get the replay. No rule prevents him being appointed.

As others have said, players all across the county would be begging for a game to reffed as it was on Sunday. No one has any interest in turning it into free taking competitions. I think Kiltale will give them another rattle in the replay but ultimately fall short by four or five. K/M absolutely deserved winners both on the day and if you look at the season as a whole. Amazing potential when you look at how young their starting team was - they'll be under no illusions that the step up to SHC will be tough, but Senior B will definitely suit their development. Will also see an absolute bloodbath in the IHC A next year RR (Meath) - Posts: 186 - 21/10/2025 18:03:18 2640996 Link 0 |

ah I really hope the county board do the sensible thing and dont let 4 teams qualify from the groups next year, that basically means clubs can still cruise along in group stages maybe even not going full pelt in round 1 and 2 because they dont want to show their hand. 2 wins out of 5 will put a team in a semi final, absolutley no bite in first few rounds. a feam that wins 2 and loses 3 games gets the same reward as a team that wins 5 from 5, they both end up in the same place , semi finals is very wrong. top 2 straight into final would probably leave a few dead rubbers but would be brilliant and cut throat, but i think the westmeath system is best to use. top team in group is rewarded by going straight into the final, if they win 5/5 or 4/5 the 2nd and 3rd teams play a semi final to meet them in the final. 5th v 6th in relegation playoff with 4th team left in safety but miss out on semi final. that system will leave huge matches from the very start. dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 898 - 22/10/2025 11:55:20 2641074 Link 0 |

Masterson is a good ref and similar to Reilly he played the game himself (helps). begining (UK) - Posts: 326 - 23/10/2025 12:42:23 2641244 Link 0 |

Well done to the lads. Well deserved two in a row! Much better all round performance than last week (bar the last 10 minutes or so). Some excellent points from play throughout. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1452 - 25/10/2025 23:12:25 2641588 Link 0 |

Ratoath will win 3 in a row next year at a canter , Kiltale will b weaker next year and trim and Kildalkey fading back into pack . No one near ratoath for a few years dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 898 - 26/10/2025 19:53:13 2641738 Link 0 |

I don't disagree that Ratoath should win the championship next year because they have the best team in the county at the moment but it all comes down to hunger and what players are available to them. Same with any of the top 4. To say trim and kildalkey are fading back into the pack is a bit far fetched. They both had their reasons for being below their capabilities this year but write either of them off at your peril. On any given day they can beat eachother or anyone else in the county. Hoping for a better championship next year with a bit more quality. Tobefair80 (Meath) - Posts: 96 - 30/10/2025 15:55:51 2642270 Link 0 |
