Tipp have a good record in finals."
Yes. Tipp always turn up in Finals. Outstanding performance from a mainly very young Tipp team. Feel sorry for Pat Ryan a gentleman and Cork. Long way back for Cork from this.

On the dart heading south from Connolly with a load of subdued Cork supporters. 2 points in a half of championship hurling must be some sort of record?

'the row in the dressing room at half-time' ? That's usually how the 'lads-in-the-know' down in Galway explain our collapses.
Congrats to Tipp but disappointed for Hoggy

Really maybe respect the level of performance Tipp produced .

Ouch that's gonna sting...Pat Ryan and his backroom team on the sideline looked absolutely shell-shocked and all out of ideas. Fair play to Tipp, some performance from them. 15 points is some licking.

I think Kilkenny only scored 2 points in the second half in 2004 final

No I wasn't disrespecting Tipp who really found an inner strength and belief in the second half. I thought the game was flat from the off with a lot of wides and scrappy play.

Munster teams know how to defend against Corks full forward line and when Cork don't get goals there confidence goes, we'll done to Tipp. Happy for Cahill-no bs out of him just honesty.

Many congrats Tipp.
What a 2nd half performance.
3-14 to only 2points I think it was. Wow

I don't think anyone could have foreseen that.
Amazing turnaround from 6pts down at half time.

Not sure I have ever seen such a 2nd half collapse by a team tbh.
I am in shock at it. Couldnt believe what was happening.

But massive credit to Tipp. Hell of a win.

Enjoy the celebrations and well done.

To quote Cusack punditing at the qfinal between Tipp and Golwaay, 'I'm glad that's over'.

Will watch it tonight but jesus 2 points in the second half is some collapse. Fair play to Tipp, not many gave them much of a chance.

Replying To Keephimthere:  "A clear case of a team believing what was being said/written and podcasted about them. And there is nothing any manager can do to prevent it happening. Tipp were very unlucky in the first half, a few narrow wides, disallowed goal, and giving away the goal so late on, not to mention all the fouling on them that went unpunished. But what an answer they gave, a super display well done to them, hard luck Cork."
Pat Ryan must be recruiting a man with your knowledge for next year. Pity you can't do anything good for your own county

Commiserations, that's a shocker and incomprehensible what happened in the second half

Certainly illustrates the folly of Dublin's tactical approach at the semifinal. Tipp's 7 defender setup in the first half was fundamental to making Cork feel uncomfortable, and making them realise that their full forward line couldn't run wreck as usual.

The goal conceded before half time and another disallowed for Tipp moments before appeared to be a blessing in disguise. Cork meanwhile had a very smug look about them probably thought they were in the box seat to win when 6 points ahead and having not played great.

2nd half was some display by Tipp. 17 scores from 25 shots and Cork 2 scores from 13 shots.

There was a lot of hot air being talked about Cork on this board (mainly from people outside Cork). Someone mentioned a 5 in a row. Again, not a Cork person.

Ger Loughnane used to say that you could drive a truck through the Cork defence. Sadly for Cork since the days of Diarmuid O'Sullivan and Eoin Cadogan in his prime, Cork haven't had a full back line of note. Peter Casey tore Niall O'Leary to shreds in the 2021 final. Cork played today's final with 2 of the full back line from that 2021 final. There was always the danger of them being turned over.

Cork are lethal when going forward but as updwell mentioned, Munster teams know how to defend against Cork and put them under pressure. Cork have lost the 21, 24 & 25 to three Munster teams and in each game they scored 1 goal and conceded three. In those three finals they've conceded 9-88.

I also thought it was a terrible error of judgement for Pat Ryan to appear in a post Munster final video mocking Limerick. I'm sure other Managers say stuff about the opposition but it stays in house. For Cork, they've seen beating Limerick as the journey to success and completely underestimated Clare and Tipperary. I live and work in Cork and it was the same thing this year as last. Talk of where to meet up for the homecoming, booking a few days off. If that seeps from fans to players it can be calamitous.

Some of us saw this coming, not in the manner it happened but that Tipp would win. Cork had a handy semi final, Tipp had to work for theirs. Tipperary showed something different in their game v us. Then v Waterford their scoring was in all Ireland winning territory.

For Cork, I think most of the raw material is there but a whole new full back line is needed. Hard to know if Pat Ryan will stay but he's taken Cork forward and he's a good bloke. But over a long period, Cork have shipped a lot of beatings even back as far as the 2017 semi v Waterford (lost 4-22 to 0-23). They really need to address the goals they concede to other Munster teams in all Ireland semi finals and finals. Cork have won 8 Munster titles in this millennium and concerted that to 1 All Ireland from those 8 wins. Defeats to other Munster teams in Cromer has been crippling with the goals conceded bring the Achilles heel.
