So you implicitly opt for "result on the day"?

Result on the day yes. In the pre mentioned scenario Donegal would have played 5 games as opposed to about half the teams in the provincials having had only one game. Was Jim Mcguinness not on about how tough and compact Donegals Ulster campaign was and then to throw the potential of a final replay into the mix--well that might a bit too much. Anyways after all the Provincial finals are not knock out in relation to the All Ireland series. edu (Mayo) - Posts: 131 - 05/07/2025 14:23:30 2623740 Link 0 |

Surely on a day like today the GAA must be thinking what are we doing. Lúla571210 (Louth) - Posts: 178 - 17/05/2026 18:02:20 2673596 Link 1 |

It's total madness. Gaa probably think they're doing the right thing but in years to come this short sighted thinking will be seen for what it is. Even the Munster u20 final last week going to penalties. Imagine the interest a replay would have bought after the excitement and quality of that game. You couldn't but that publicity and feel good factor richiepmurphy (Kilkenny) - Posts: 85 - 18/05/2026 10:33:24 2673758 Link 1 |

I'm sure Kieran mc Geeney would love to play 5 matches this year to arrive at the same point Kerry have, after their tough munster campaign of 2 games?? They are amateur players who make plenty enough sacrifices, no need for provincial replays.

Yea, and maybe the World Cup Final, the Champions League Final, Super Bowl and all other Finals should go to replays. What we need is a calender with 100 weeks in it.
