Lets be very frank here any team doing well in Leinster has used Croke Park for home games.

Meath did it, Laois did it, Kildare did it.

How many Championship games did Kildare play in Newbridge in 98 on their way to the final?

I work with a lot of Meath people and a lot of them are expecting to beat Dublin in this upcoming semi final. Be interesting to see will such expectations will be realized.

Think Mearh might do it too. And if Louth beat Kildare they will have some motivation going into the Leinster final, 15 years after they were denied a leinster final win. If memory serves me correctly Meath beat Dublin in the 2010 semi-final, scoring 5 goals in that game.
If it transpires that It's a Louth - Meath final Louth will finally have the replay that they should have had in 2010.

The Dubs are definitely there for the taking this year.

We are miles away from even last year - are we were poor enough last year tbh.

Losing Fenton is a game changer - and add Jamesie, Jack, Mannion, Mick Fitz, Lee and Murch also. ;o(

Game outside of Croker - never a better chance for meath to beat us imo.

Except it's not just Kildare. Ultimately Donegal brought the motion to stop Dublin getting 2 home games in the old super 8s.

Anyone in Rathcoole, Saggart or Tallaght would be quicker to Newbridge than Croke Park - so I'm not sure what your point is.

What about the rest of Kildare that isn't on the Sligo to Connolly line? Definitely handy for anyone from Kilcock, Maynooth, Leixlip or Confey. Newbridge is a definite advantage when you want partisan support in the smaller home ground than Croke Park.

Donegal never elected to play all their home games in Croke Park when it suited them to do so - then winged when it didnt. Hypocrisy.

Im happy to accept that neither Croke Park nor Newbridge is a home or away game for either county - i dont really think id be playing away if i played in Newbridge to be honest, the borders imagery these days culturally.

Its said when you think about it - the one thing that could save would be self reflection to guid improvement yet, its always some external factor and being the victim, sad.

Your 30 mins these days with good Traffic from county Dublin to Newbridge - only Monastervein and Athy maybe a little more, we're not talking of scaling mountains or great distances here, most town in mid, certainly North Kildare - have as many Dubs as anyone native to Kildare, wont be long until the South is the same. One of the Kildare lads already pointed it out.

Anyway - away from Croke Park and back to the football. Both Leinster Semi finals are likely to be close games.

Meath absolutely blew a good Offaly team away in the second half of their game. Dublin don't seem to be a quite the same heights as they have been at in previous years. I think Meath will put it up to Dublin and I wouldn't be surprised if they beat them.

I think Louth and Kildare is very hard to call. Louth seem to have been quite inconsistent all year and Kildare can be just as inconsistent even within a match. The couple of games against Offaly and the game against Westmeath will have brought Kildare on a bit so I'll go Kildare by a point.

If Meath had their full selection available (very unlucky with injuries this year) then I'd fancy them to make this a close contest.

Alas they don't and will do well to get within 5-10 points of Dublin.
