Just wondering what your thoughts would be to give hurlers and footballers their own unique look with different set of jersey design. I guess because i come from a dual County (albeit that is up for debate considering our football support is very bad) it would be interesting to see. I know Galway tried in the mid 2000s. Parden any mistakes as im dyslexic. DuhallowRed (Cork) - Posts: 308 - 28/03/2025 12:07:44 2599045 Link 0 |
Certainly a novel idea. But I honestly don't see the point. Pikeman96 (Wexford) - Posts: 2794 - 28/03/2025 12:48:12 2599054 Link 0 |
I think that would be really interesting to see. Very much a dual county ourselves in that the majority of players do both codes right to way to adult level but hurling is king here in terms of support. Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3460 - 28/03/2025 13:08:13 2599062 Link 0 |
Meath hurlers often wear yellow when green is more associated with the footballers. trimmer (Meath) - Posts: 537 - 28/03/2025 14:08:19 2599071 Link 0 |
I think the community that would go mental are parents of children who will want both. I suppose the upside is that we could power the country from the warmth of the celebrations at the O'Neills shareholder meetings.

Offaly did it in the 1980's. They regularly played Kerry who they clashed with so their footballers wore a mainly white kit and when they beat Kerry in 82 they kept wearing it from then on regardless of who they were playing for all football matches. I'd say it was nearly the 1990's before they switched back to their traditional jersey. Their hurlers never changed so there was a long period when each wore very different jersey designs. Should be the same in my opinion. When the LGFA and GAA merge the ladies jerseys should be the same design too. I see clubs ladies teams have different colors running through them like pink…which has nothing to do with the club in question. Everyone is the same in my view so the colors and jersey design should be the same. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11510 - 28/03/2025 16:16:09 2599097 Link 0 |
A great period for the faithful county, good to see green shoots in both codes there in recent years.

Parents could say 'no', even in 2025!

Derry hurling team used to wear white shorts although so did the football team up to the 1970s I think. PattyONeill (Derry) - Posts: 261 - 28/03/2025 20:56:19 2599142 Link 0 |

You usually get what you pay for though and some Azzurri stuff looks good. Masita and KCsports do good club gear.
