David Clifford showing his class again Tyrone last Sunday. Has there ever been a better forward? Has everything in his locker.

Simple answer is No. Best forward of all time and has been from he was 15. Class to see him being mobbed by Tyrone and Kerry children after the final whistle. Now that's GAA. And we'll still get our usual crying, whinging people slagging football off.

He'd have to que for Coppers this direction.

Wouldn't be at the front of the que for chips after either.

Con O Callaghan, for one

He was definitely heading on that path to be the greatest ever.

However the last 2 years he's had some very sub par performances. Which is understandable considering all that has happened.

If he continues the form of Sunday into this season and delivers Sam back to Kerry he's back on course.

David Clifford had a poor year in 2024. No doubt he had a great match against Tyrone. We will be able to judge David better in the Championship especially when it comes to the knock out stages.
The new rules certainly suit David and other quality forwards as the matches are more open so far, hopefully that continues.

Con is a different type of player. He can take the ball from 50 yards out and carry it past a number of players, usually with power and pace. He's such a threat anywhere on the pitch.
Shane Walsh can do similar, but more with his balance, change of direction and pace. Being very two-footed helps with that.
Clifford is very effective at beating his man inside, as he's physically very strong. He's more of an inside forward than the other two, but he's absolutely lethal when he gets the ball. More clinical than both in my opinion.
Different styles, but I'd expect all of them to flourish under the new rules, provided the stay injury free.
In terms of overall greatest, people always seem to focus on forwards. It's natural as they get the scores, and happens in soccer too.
I'd have Brian Fenton up there as one of the greatest I've ever seen. He could do it all.

David Clifford is the best forward I've ever seen. Shane Walsh's long range efforts, particularly since the new rules came in, are a joy to behold these days. CON lethal too. Plenty of gifted forwards, too long of a list to name, in recent decades - but for the full, devastating package, I think D Clifford is the ultimate forward. When he's fully on, he appears to be unmarkable.

Wait until his story is written. This generation is quicker to laud current players as the greatest of all time than any generation in my lifetime. He's a fabulous player of that there's no doubt. Has he achieved what Matt Conner achieved by the time Matt was 24? Doubtful and Matt played in an era of knockout championship football. Park the GOAT b******t and enjoy watching a magnificent footballer at work.

What I like about Clifford is that goal is always the first thing on his mind,no taking the easy way out and punching over the bar.

No the GOAT yet. But he is young and may keep it up for a long time yet.
I may have a different opinion in 5 or 10 years depending on how his football career plays out.

Pure football ability level Maurice Fitzgerald may have had evel more than Clifford, seeing Maurice taking long range frees equally well with either foot (depending what side of the pitch he was on) was really amazing. I just loved watching him play.

Caravan for me is best forward I have seen, super skill and delivered when it was needed most.

Spot on. He's an amazing player to watch, one of the best inside forwards currently playing. Would he be as good an all round baller as his brother though?

Still has much to prove in my opinion to be considered even in the same bracket as the Michael Murphy's of this generation.

In the really big games on against big teams from the Semi final on - hes often struggled in Croker to make an impact or influence a game.

Matt Connor the best I've seen such a shame his career was cut so short with that accident was around the same age as David Clifford then and had a better scoring average.
