Yes I agree he def should have consulted his umpires. I would add that he may still have come up with the same decision of penalty (rightly or wrongly) My opinion remains however that it should never have got to that stage and Ballinderry unfortunately only have themselves to blame. Agreed. I haven't seen any moaning at all from the Ballinderry side. In my opinion it was mistake from the referee, but Ballinderry have taken it on the chin, which reflects very well on them. Congratulations to Crossmolina. They've been through an awful few weeks. The only one coming across as bitter is the poster who tried to use this incident to have a go at Ulster GAA people. Very odd behaviour and says a lot about them. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2230 - 27/01/2025 17:26:30 2587999 Link 1 |
The only one to blame is the referee…. Ballinderry were ahead in injury time when he made a horrendous error…. How are Ballinderry to blame for that….?

Yes that was also a horrible way to win/lose.

When injury time was up, Ballinderry had possession about 35yards from their own goal - 30 seconds later Cross have a goal chance - that is Ballinderrys fault for allowing Cross to turnover possession and work the ball into that goal scoring position, not the referees.
