Replying To Freethinker:  "If your management is like most others, the named starting 25 and matchday starters often differ."
We usually start pretty much as named in the football

Replying To Pikeman96:  "I was just answering the question of whether or not he's injured.

I don't necessarily expect him to start there. It wasn't by accident that I said "he's named at number 14", rather than "he's playing full-forward"."
In the modern games numbers really mean very little as positions go.

Replying To Pikeman96:  "Do you mean is Ben Brosnan injured?

Wouldn't think so. He's named at number 14."
big week coming up , 2 wins and we are nearly up, if the other results keep going our way 2 wins and we are up, not counting chickens lose one and we in knock out mode

No need to explain. Mine was just an observation that team sheets issued by various managers don't always tally with the starting lineup. A few years ago it was a bit of a joke how some of the more prominent county managers liked to keep the opposition guessing about their lineouts. Sometimes you had the ridiculous situation where, players lined out as per the list, and as soon as the ball was thrown in there was a scramble to their "actual" positions. Confusion reigned for a minute or two with players trying to sort out who they were marking.

Wexford by 5 v Waterford. The sooner the better we are out of that division. Wexford football declined massively in support in the last 10 years or so with our involvement in that division.

That 20 minute lull is worrying, same thing happened against Carlow. I think paudie Hughes injury was a contributing factor, he wasn't moving well before half time and that's when Waterfords "purple patch" began.
A good win though, and another +12 in the scoring difference.
2 home games coming up now, hopefully the lads can keep it going. It's all in their own hands now.

I think its safe to say that if we beat Wicklow we are promoted however Tipp are not out of it yet - but with only two games to go - to win both and Limerick to lose both of theirs, well the odds are not in their favor. Before today, bar Waterford all the teams could have an outside chance of getting into the top 2. However I think that going into that game against Wicklow we will know that a win will be good enough to see us promoted.

After today's results, it looks like a win next Sunday would practically guarantee promotion

And after today's results, we're the only County with a 100% record !!

it was great to see tom byrne get man of the match, a lad that has toiled away for years on the county panel, always will to serve his county, seldom getting his day in the sun, its the likes of him are as much the heros of the gaa as the clifforts or thevo sheas

Yes, good to see Tom getting his recognition, well deserved on Saturday. It also increases the midfield options when Coleman comes back.

Tom has that inner dog in him too, something we were lacking a little around the middle 3rd up until last year.

Massive boost if so along with the return of Cian Hughes.

As an aside I see a few of the county players released to play league games for their clubs last weekend, great to see and we need to see it more at underage.

Interesting to see that your management are seeing the bigger picture as regards letting panel players, particularly peripheral ones line out for their clubs. Pity ours wouldn't do the same. Some clubs can be hard hit for their own county leagues if they have a number of seniors and u20 players involved at county. In some counties, players not involved with the match day squad have to line out with their clubs. Makes sense really.

Hegarty has built a decent panel over the last few years in fairness.
