I wonder will they show Cats v Clare now football is called off?

Good result for Carlow too against Offaly who are going to struggle without Screeney and the other missing lads.

Going to be a bit of a scrap at the bottom involving Antrim, Westmeath, Offaly and Carlow methinks. Reports from Waterford are sombre but you'd imagine they be able to do enough to avoid the drop and be at top end..

Screeney isn't a SenIor Intercounty star yet. He's a great hurler for sure but give the lad time, he's only 19! Last year I watched him in 2 Senior intercounty games, he scored 1 point against us in the League, and 1 point against Laois in the Joe Mac final. The burden of expectation that people are putting on that young man's shoulders is frankly frightening.

2012 league final i think? I suppose it was too late to redivert the cameras. Galway/Tipp should be good. Be interesting to see who lines out.

He is actually out maybe for the year I think. Mitchell and another one or two as well?

He will improve for sure and mature backs are a different proposition even to club seniors. He seems to be as tough as nails, and you need to be.

Hope he's not out too long.

Apologies. Charlie Mitchell was full forward last night. Report says Offaly never threatened Carlow goal. Marty Kavanagh got 12 points for the traffic lights.

I've friends from Tipp and Galway who have seen both the teams in challenge games this year. I'm not sure which are more negative about their teams prospects at this stage tbh.

Hope so too. He should be back for Championship he has a groin issue.

Mouse would be good enough for most Liam McCarthy teams right now

Easily. He must be up there with TJ as one of best free takers. Must be getting on a bit too? They'll miss him if and when he retires. I'd fancy them far more than any of Antrim, Westies, Laois or Offaly to make further progress in next year or two if they get out of McDonagh again, which they should do,

Donoghue has to clear the decks. But he will be lambasted if they don't at least get top 3 place in Leinster and beat Dublin.

That's in Parnell this year and by god, there will be plenty of timber flying regardless of where either are placed on last day :-)

He's only turned 30 believe it or not. Around a long time though. Problem Carlow have is getting more good lads coming through, though Colm Kavanagh from St Mullins looked very good for Good Counsel the couple of times I saw them on clubber the last month or so, and a young lad from MLR started for Kierans last week also. It must be hard for them with only 5 Senior clubs.

Hurling is on GAAGO. KK vs Clare over, and Galway/Tipp on now.

Replying To BarneyGrant:  "Nice clinical win by Dublin with just 6 regulars from last year. Some of new lads very impressive and nice defensive set up in absence of Paddy Smyth and proving that Eoghan not be missed as much as predicted.

Antrim very disappointing. They have always brought a bit of fight and edge along with skills. All mostly absent last night. Hope they recover."
No recovery required thanks Barney. Fitzy trying to completely change things up. Won't happen in 1 game. We will keep the faith and I would say will survive and make it busy come championship. Hood luck for the season.

Tipp's defeat to Dublin seems to have brought them on :-)

Jake much better closer to goal than he was against ourselves. That new fella McCarthy is good. Ronan Maher remains a monster. They be lost without him.

Antrim people in was talking to were not as optimistic. But early days. In fairness Davy didn't seem that annoyed!

Tipp beating Galway very easily. Setting up for the usual minefield of a Munster championship.

It was ever the same. However can Galway be ever as poor as they looked to day.
