so do you think that antrim are holding bk and getting hammered because they want to and will be away better in april. the likes of antrim need to winning everything they can to build confidence. they have a manager who is a complete bluffer and how county boards bring him in is beyond me.

His answer was they are training hard. So isn't every other team? Waterford had it in for him personally. What nonsense to be spouting. For one thing Waterford looked way over powering than Antrim. Waterford should not be using this game as too much of a barometer as to where they are. I hope Antrim are better in April because they were before the hired gun rode in.

I think Davy has them running up and down the Glens right now. They looked leggy against Offaly. Not much better against Waterford, although I only saw highlights of the Waterford game. I guess I'll find out if I'm right in Wexford Park in a couple months. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 15047 - 27/02/2025 19:40:56 2593574 Link 0 |
Bad news for Clare with Shane o Donnell ruled out for this year..huge loss to both club and county and a big loss to the Gaa,great ambassador for the game..hope he gets back and this is genuine from the other side of the Shannon. Awful shame. Probably the non Wexford player I admire most. Seems an absolute gent.

Thanks Folks for the kind comments a devastating loss to Clare and to hurling don't think we will ever see him again in the Clare jersey reports are that he was doing this year and they going to America to enter some space project. Without him in AI of 2024 i believe that went Cork were 7 points up they were flying and Shane refused to wilt remember how he won back that ball for Aidan McCarthy to score without him no all Ireland. Clare's hopes of progressing this year seriously damaged wishing Shane all the best in recovery & life ahead clooney (Clare) - Posts: 969 - 28/02/2025 10:42:30 2593650 Link 0 |
As a hurling man, if he doesn't play Intercounty again, it would be a huge loss to the game. He will go down as one the most lethal forwards ever which is more impressive given injuries/concussions etc he has overcome to play at the level he did. Really the only way to stop him is to cut out the supply because when he gets the ball in hand the opposition are in trouble. The biggest compliment I can give him, is that there are a lot of intercounty cornerbacks who will sleep a little easier knowing they wont have to try and curtail him this year. big loss to clare i rated him as top class....a really dangerous inside forward . as for clare progressing this year i think sundays result against limerick ( even tho it will only be early march) could have a bearing on the year going forward if clare can raise there game and get a result against limerick it will give clare a huge lift after a poor start to the league . but if clare ship another heavy beating again it could leave a lot of question marks going forward. munsterchamps (Limerick) - Posts: 1132 - 28/02/2025 17:24:34 2593757 Link 0 |
Clare stepped up performance with impressive win today against Limerick in a feisty encounter. Clare haven't gone away, and Munster championship is shaping up once again to be a cauldron!

Let's see will the host of Sunday game discuss the incident with tk as much as shamie from cork game or will she concentrate on Diarmaid red..it was deserved cos he swung his fists..what was he suppose to do with 3 Clare fellas wanting to push him into the stand?any other player do what tk did and they were getting straight red?all I want to see is consistency from refs.Johnny Murphy missed a head challange last night and didn't give any card..I really fear for some of the bigger matches coming down the line..I don't know anymore what is or isn't a free and I think it's getting very frustrating for players and supporters. Didn't Casey do exactly the same thing and got no card?

Yes he did,and should have got yellow,he made actual effort to pull out of challange..I'm aftald tk didn't,English ball in hand and gone when he got the belt..I'm asking you honestly, red or not? CTGAA10 (Limerick) - Posts: 2467 - 02/03/2025 19:22:52 2594226 Link 1 |
They were both red cards for hitting the head On Byrnes I am not sure what you mean by what is he supposed to do? Maybe, not throw (very badly) around 6 punches. It's not very smart to try and punch a helmet LohansRedHelmet (Clare) - Posts: 2690 - 02/03/2025 20:06:01 2594246 Link 0 |
Whether people admit to it or not certain people are targeted and labelled if Hego was playing or if it was Hayes or WOD and did what TK did the Clare players would lose their minds and the crowd would row in behind them and all the pundits will analyse from very possible angle. If it's other players it's a non event. In saying that I thought Limerick were off the mark today and got what they deserved. Maybe they had a heavy block of training done. With Dan Morrissey , Hego, Hayes and WOD out we lacked enforcers and tough tacklers but u can see Kiely if trying to find cover for positions. What's the story with DOD? Is hannon injured? Think we will still need these guys back and firing Fitzy01 (Limerick) - Posts: 419 - 02/03/2025 20:24:30 2594252 Link 0 |
Fitzy I'd agree it depends a lot on who is throwing a belt..I agree also that limerick didn't play well and some were way off today..5 goal chances at least created and none taken.. CTGAA10 (Limerick) - Posts: 2467 - 02/03/2025 20:38:53 2594258 Link 0 |
I am not going to comment on these incidents . It is easy dump in officials but the standard is pretty bad. From giving side line balls the wrong way while standing next to the play to booking the wrong player despite it been brought to their attention. forwards getting tugged back constantly. Trained to give a tug on the hand of an opponent when in close to dispose him. It is time to penalize every free with the use of a two or three minutes in the box. If the team is guilty of a number of these sneaky plays suspend the manager for a game. This b.s. will continue until there are consequences and I am not excluding my team either. A player goes in to tackle with a ball going towards the side line and the opponent feels contact. Goes down and a free is given. No consistency of calls or steps or cards. Officiating is a shambles who is to blame ? Who is responsible to train and evaluate and make corrections? Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 2973 - 03/03/2025 02:08:22 2594310 Link 0 |
There is a lot of inconsistency in refereeing for the record TK should have got a red he explained it on T Na G interview that Adan English dinked him but still a careless slap likewise Mike Casey I think. Overall an entertaining game with a little bit of edge as you would expect between great rivals clooney (Clare) - Posts: 969 - 03/03/2025 08:18:49 2594320 Link 0 |
Its easy to blame the officials but it must be the hardest game on earth to referree and the GAA dont ever seem to offer much by way of assistance.

Maybe he was defending himself from Hogans kicking and trying to knee him. Also why did TK hold his head after getting a hip to hip challenge from Byrnes?
