Will Cusack park be playable? It's going to be some slog if it is. Would be nice to let supporters know in advance either way

A mad mad game. Some 2nd half, managed it very well even allowing for the wind. 4 points and looking up now

Good to get the win today. There was s lot of pessimism building around the team. Some of it was probably warranted but maybe a little overstated. Yes, we have a lot of ageing players but it's not as Terrible as some are saying. Quietly, there a new guard building. Bit by bit, new or younger players are being blooded in the team. There is the core of a good team available for the next few years or more. That's without including any of the good talent in the u20 squad.
O Rourke, Fortune, Cian Reilly, Carolan, O Connell, Molloy, Crowe, Kiernan (Denn), Lovett, Paddy Lynch, Oisin Brady, Cian Madden, O Neill, Cormac Reilly, Donnelly, Ryan Donohoe, TED, Shaun Clarke, McEvoy, Peter and James Smith. There are lots of others, I know. They're the ones I could remember off the top of my head. The old guard need to help bed them in but maybe it's not the abject gloom that some, including the esteemed gentleman in the Celt is suggested. Onwards to Down.

What a comeback, very enjoyable. And a vital 2 points.

A dangerous game next week. Down probably don't have as good of players as Westmeath but they are cuter.

By my understanding, if Down are relegated they will still be in Sam Maguire because they won the Tailteann, and with Cork and Kerry in the same side in Munster and Dublin and Meath the same side in Leinster, 6th in division 2 might not be enough to get into Sam Maguire

The Westmeath podcast discuss the game from about 25 minutes in. It's very Westmeath centered but still quite interesting to hear the view from another county's perspective.

Bit of fight and attack from Cavan tonight. So tight, but just super to see Gearóid McKiernan to stand tall. With Oisín Brady back on shooting, and great to see new players coming to the team. It was a shoot out. Things are slowly coming. An Cabhán Abú.

I thought Jason McLoughlin was immense tonight. Faulkners brilliant goal made the difference in 2nd half. Gearoids 2 pointer was also a massive score. Gearoid did serious mileage tonight I couldn't believe he was still able to cover back so well in 2nd half on top of everything else he did, Big moment when Down had a score waved wide that looked over, I'm not sure was it a one or 2 pointer. We were lucky to get the win, we ran the legs off ourselves in a chaotic first half. I thought a draw looked likely but in fairness they fought hard to the end

It was a great win and guarantees Division 2 football next season… which is the most important thing

well I think not fully safe in Div 2 yet,..... its a long shot I know ...but....if louth and cork win 1 of their remaining 2 games, and Down win both and cavan loose both..... then Louth, Cork, Down and Cavan finish on 6 pts ..and head to head does not count only score diff

We are indeed the only county in the division who can go up and down, but it's a very much long shot to go down. Would need a bizarre set of circumstances like you say

It's a strange kind of rivalry Cavan v Down There have been so many exciting games over the years I remember a good few during the 2000s

I thought Cavan were much the better team but had to grind it out in the end which they did. Coughed up a lot of cheap scores. They seem to have a lot of brain-dead moments which can be very frustrating. The full back line were outstanding but defensively we look quite open - struggling to track runners

Pity Westmeath couldn't hold on to the draw yesterday. Promotion is probably gone now even if we were to beat Roscommon

They weren't much the better in the second half. Down improved and unlucky at the end for a 2 pointer from havern. Cavan put some good moves together. Donnelly,Cian Madden are good runners . Donnelly done well on his first start. Oisin Brady chipped in with a few good scores. Some good performancs in the back. Ciaran Brady more comfortable at half back

Huge game for Cavan on Sunday. The Rossies or the Sheepstealers. Breffini's record against Roscommon is shocking. For years and years, Cavan have had a shoot out against them but mostly come out losing. Games going back to League games, league finals, and Championship have seen Cavan come out second best. Last summer, Cavan were close in a high shoot out, but by conceding 3 goals, the game got away. Rossies have several key forwards, and Breffini will need to be firm. Cavan's team seem to be coming together, and hope the defence can keep improving.

Great win today. Fully deserved too and could have been more with the goal chances. Promotion still on if Meath lose to Louth and we beat Cork. Mad we've a chance after those first 2 games. Great to be on this streak regardless.

Injuries a concern based on who Galligan said was missing and who we lost today. Onwards to Breffni next Sunday!

Yes a great win… It would be great to beat Cork regardless of the Meath result to keep the momentum going before the Championship… I think if I remember correctly the last time we got promoted to Division 1 we also lost our first two league matches…so history might repeat itself..!

Just delighted Cavan won the game. Such a fight about the team in the game. AI, good luck. Over the moon with the performance today.

Great win is right and very enjoyable All beit not much atmosphere in the stand - that's the issue with building a big stand and similar could happen to Breffni soon

We came into the game hyping up the Roscommon forwards, but it was our own forwards who looked the more impressive although they didn't start Murtagh or Cregg

It was the type of game where a goal would have made a big difference but thankfully they missed their chance. I thought we were much the better team

In all games we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot conceding cheap scores but in saying that the new mark rule is horrendous. That's not to mention Gearoids free and Donnelly's point only being awarded one point McEvoys as well - all were outside the arc

Highlights were on tg4 for anyone that didn't see. It's mad to think a shabby hooter in Mullingar is likely going to cost us promotion. Could Louth tighten Meath in Inniskeen? Pity it's not in Ardee We would also need Monaghan to win which is no guarantee In any case Sam Maguire football was the priority and it is pretty safe now
