Replying To Doylerwex:  "I'm fairly sure the beat us in a close game in 2012. Jack guineys championship debut of I'm not mistaken.

We beat them in 03, 04, 06 and don't remembered playing them another time in that decade"
You have a good memory Doyler. Was up in Tullamore and some of them were complaining it wasn't in Birr. Was pretty low scoring. I didn't go. My eldest son arrived a fortnight after that game.
We gave Offaly a bit of a beating in 09 in the Park, big Stephen Banville scored 2-2, before we lost to Dublin in the SF in Nowlan Park ending our run of Leinster finals, and our dominance over the Dubs. We have only beaten them once in championship since.

Ah I do remember that Dublin game. Dublin were knocking in 07 only for Barry Lambert nailing a 100 metre free before it was cool :)

Remember that one too. Then they got even closer in 08, we needed a replay to beat them.

They are the one county in Leinster I don't like playing at all, and that is probably the one game I'm dreading the most in the round robin going up there, every time we play them it feels like we get dragged into a dog fight. Since 08 we have one win against them in championship and they nearly bet us that day we did beat them in 2018, should've beaten them in 19, shot ourselves in the foot in 22 and 23 and the less said about last year the better.

That's what's so frustrating. They have become another Cork or Kilkenny for us. For us to beat them by a point on the scoreboard we probably have to be 10 points better than them in play, if you get what I mean.

Don't think you can really be surprised by that? Every county above us has been in at least 2 finals since 96. I thought ourselves and Waterford (20/1) would have fairly similar odds. Think we're 5/1 to win Leinster.

I d say its about right . We would nt be overly confident of beating any team in our group. Say we probably 2 or 3/1 to even get out of the group .
Leinster prob bout 7/1 to win . So 40/1 is prob about right. Would nt be putting too much on us to.win all Ireland that's for sure

We have to earn that right on the field of play. Which we aren't consistently doing.

Yet Tipp, Waterford, Clare all have much shorter odds and two of them will be gone in April.

Thats true but its more much more likely Tipp or Clare win the all ireland if they get out of Munster. Ourselves and Waterford are probably close enough

Any team news ahead of Saturday have we had any challenge games since the Galway game? I see Jippo will be back for the Antrim game all going well and Conor Mac could be back for either the Galway or Offaly game

Cork or Limerick could be gone either.

Think people are too focused on odds, all successful individuals/teams need to back themselves, sometimes it doesn't hurt to be little delusional and believe in yourself when everyone around you doubts you

If you doubt yourself or don't fully believe in yourself, you'll never achieve what you're actually capable of, we haven't believed in ourselves for a long while and it's been holding us back, no guarantee we'd win anything if we did 100% believe in ourselves but we'd be guaranteed to continue winning nothing if we don't start believing in ourselves

Donegal under McGuinness and Armagh under McGeeney good examples, players playing to their max and doing things no-one thought they could (because they were under-achieving rather than playing to their capabilities beforehand), apologies for going back to 1996 but was that team really that much talented than the teams that went before? Might have been luckier but Griffin had them believing

Anyone in Leinster can beat us but at the same time, we can beat anyone in Leinster. Win a Leinster Final and we'd have a huge bandwagon behind us too

If I had to make a prediction now for our season, I think we'll end up playing one of those two from the Munster final in Thurles after us finishing 3rd.

I hope I'm proved wrong and we make a Leinster final, but I can't see how we don't manage to shoot ourselves in the foot at least once in Leinster.

Absolutely they could but probability would suggest they'll be in the Munster final.

That's the likeliest scenario, but after spending last week backing horses, I know the likeliest scenario doesn't always come to pass.

I think there could be a shock in Munster this year. Clare missing Shane O'Donnell and still very reliant on the old guard like Conlan. Limerick missing Quaid who is critical for them.

Our lads, to use a horsey phrase, are going to need a lot of luck in running to be in with a shout of a Leinster final. No doubt we could produce a one off performance to beat KK or Galway as we have before. But producing 5 consistent performances in 6-7 weeks looks beyond us.

I would take wins over dublin, offaly and antrim to be honest. I be happy with that because all three of these games will be very tough for us
