Most Counties wont get started into club championship until August, regardless of when their county gets knock out. In Mayo, summer holiday break is now part of the club players life. Even if Mayo were out on 14th June - Club football Championship wont be starting early. ... All Ireland finalists St Brigid's made a flying start to their Roscommon SFC title defence. Hoganstand reports that they were in impressive form as they saw off Michael Glaveys by 1-24 to 0-12. ... Club is King! It's great to see all the football championships getting underway! Intermediate All Ireland winners An Ghaeltacht marked their return to the senior grade with a win. Senior All Ireland winners Dingle lost to Rathmore. Senior Club winners Dr Crokes also got off to a winning start. Dr Crokes and Dingle will clash in Round 2. Club football in the Tyrone Division 1 league keeps getting weirder. The 3 biggest towns in Tyrone, Omagh, Dungannon and Coalisland are sitting bottom, 2nd and 3rd from bottom. Good to get an insight into what is happening in another county. Be interesting to see how it plays out. Last year's county finalists Austin Stacks got off to a winning start.
