Ballygunner one of finest club teams in hurling.will probably be disappointed that they havnt won more than 1 all Ireland but looking at them, they will be contending seriously for the coming years..they were excelllent in semi final and could put a big score on sarsfields on Sunday..they will probably have to keep an eye on all Ireland semi more than anything..if they get to final they will be heavy favourites to get over the line and I for one wouldn't bet against them.they are a very well run club and that helps.. I watched the Galway final and they were shocking poor, cap were the better team throughout but shot themselves in the foot….but would probably have missed that. Ulster used to be a forgone conclusion on many occasions for Antrim clubs and only bad attitude was mainly to blame for a few defeats. However, it's way more competitive with portaferry and slaughtneil both at a higher level. Antrim hurling at county level is lower than club level because most players are not committed to the county. Slaughtneil would beat the pick of the rest of Derry.

Nothing speculative about Harry Rudell's goal. Ballygunner put themselves in the position that his goal won the game for them. The same as St. Thomas put themselves in the position to win the shootout last year. Rudell's shot did not go in off a post or hit off anyone. He buried it in the corner of the net with the keeper at full stretch. This is the second time you have tried to sully that All-Ireland win. I will give credit to any team from anywhere that win.

So you watched one game and you're basing it off that? Very idiotic comment. Cappy Vs Loughrea always a dogfight of a game the last 10 years. Now tell me, did you watch the two clarinbridge games and the castlegar game?

"cappy were the better team" despite losing, only leading once on 18th min and both having 12 wides.

I'm not trying to sully the win. I was delighted for Ballygunner that they won that game. And I've said repeatedly that they've been the best club side in Ireland the last few years, and I have them as favouritesthis year too. I just pointed out that it's very rare that a team that's 2 points down gets a goal with the last puck of a game. And even rarer that someone scores a goal from that far out. But you were trying to big up the rest of the Munster clubs while running down clubs from everywhere else in that post. If the other Munster clubs apart from Ballygunner were as far ahead as you claimed, then surely to God more than one of them would've won a club AI in the last 20 years? Wrong Viking. Nap beat Oulart the Ballagh. I should know as my wife is an OTB woman and I was at the game.

Seven different Galway clubs have won All Ireland (14 all told.) Enough said really. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3155 - 29/11/2024 09:48:52 2581679 Link 1 |
Sorry they did OTM. My mistake! But the point still stands. That was only one of 2 occasions a Munster club has won the AI club in the last 20 years. The AI club championship has been dominated by Galway and Kilkenny clubs.

After a savage battle to get out of Connaught. However they won them fair play to them.

NAP bet Cushendall in the AI club final to win it. They bet Oulart in the semi final. Oulart had a great chance to win the All Ireland that year. Past hurler (None) - Posts: 818 - 29/11/2024 14:43:23 2581699 Link 0 |
I could make the same sarcastic comment about Ballygunner's savage battle to get out of Waterford. The Galway championship is as tough as they come, so they have a similar amount of competitive games played as Ballygunner by the time they play the All-Ireland semi-final.
