Ireland has become a "pro Choice" country. Sad really. Ireland was great in the 80's and 90's. But once Fine Gael got into power. That was the end. galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2681 - 22/12/2024 13:31:05 2584284Link 0

Watergrasshill look a serious outfit, will take a big effort to stop them in Croke Park but it's a final at the end of the day so you never know. Past hurler (None) - Posts: 984 - 06/01/2025 19:29:23 2584820Link 0
The bad old days when honest working people could buy a decent house pretty quickly on one wage. Before Cillian Murphy came along to tell us how awful it was. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3778 - 07/01/2025 12:00:21 2584881Link 0

                    Lads, can you take your nonsense to the non-GAA thread. That's what it's there for. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2611 - 08/01/2025 14:51:03 2585034Link 3 |
Yes, exactly. There's been an inordinate amount of drivel posted on this thread. Now, let's hope Sars, Watergrasshill and Russell Rovers do a clean sweep of trophies. Sars could win club championship without a single Cork inter county starter… Jack O' Connor is on the panel but not a starter last year. The team is an honest, hardworking and tough outfit, and can win against Na Fianna! Ryanteam (Cork) - Posts: 586 - 09/01/2025 03:07:46 2585112Link 0
| You contributed yourself! But back to hurling. Very hard to predict final. Ballygunner is huge scalp for Sars and probably beat third best team in semi final. Na Fianna are good but might have lost every game since Dublin semi final at one stage. Even against Clough from what looked like comfortable position. They are tough to beat and experience of losing close games in previous years is standing to them. If both forwards are on form and game is played as both prefer could be lock of goals. | They've every chance Ryanteam. Battle of the Cities! Will depend entirely on what happens on the day. Looking forward to the game tbh! Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 17341 - 09/01/2025 09:19:34 2585126Link 0 |
Should be great match. Two very exciting teams to watch. Don't know how bookies/punters have decided Na Fianna are 4/6 favourites. Would not be tempted by that even though I hope NF do it. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3778 - 09/01/2025 13:42:25 2585178Link 0
Really couldn't call it after seeing both sides this year. Bookies will set odds to try maximise profits, which will reflect what way punters are betting, rather than what the bookies think the actual outcome will be. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 17341 - 09/01/2025 14:23:01 2585183Link 0
Its a kind of false market on GAA as PP/Betfair are the only major players and none of them will take even decent sized bets at the odds for other than the All Irelands and even then you wouldn't get on what they might take for a big race. Hopefully the cold snap be over and a dry calm day as both teams will relish a fast surface. While I really hope Na Fianna do win it won't be great in short term for county team given their prominence. Be difficult for N Ó C and the county players to transition quickly into an important league campaign. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3778 - 09/01/2025 15:59:52 2585197Link 0
I have to fancy the Sars on this one BaileCrann (Down) - Posts: 77 - 09/01/2025 16:43:39 2585207Link 0
At the same time if they win they will bring a good bounce into the set up maybe? Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 17341 - 09/01/2025 18:47:50 2585234Link 0
In the long run but Dublin need a good start to league and realistically need to be winning every game to ensure promotion. What will stand to county panel is likes of AJ, Stacey and a few others coming in. Some of the younger players have really excelled too so long term should be boost. He's picked a good sideline team too so won't be a case of Na Fianna dominating. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3778 - 09/01/2025 21:07:01 2585260Link 0
Watergrasshill intermediate champions with late goal to win it! Russell Rovers lost ! One out of 2 ain't bad… now for next Sunday … Ryanteam (Cork) - Posts: 586 - 12/01/2025 15:58:35 2585640Link 0
He had great game. Great goal to win it and some great fetches of ball and passes. Slightly surprised Murphy got míthreorach although he scored great point after missing two easy enough frees. Great match to watch.. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3778 - 12/01/2025 18:36:02 2585652Link 0
