I think they're starting to get a bit worried about Northern domination again. Every adult football club, colleges and county All Ireland title was won by Ulster teams this year sure :D peiledoir20 (Donegal) - Posts: 1036 - 01/08/2024 11:22:39 2563383 Link 1 |

The same amount as Roscommon. When's the last time the Rossies won a championship game in Croker?? peiledoir20 (Donegal) - Posts: 1036 - 01/08/2024 12:47:23 2563412 Link 0 |
So you've admitted it then? That's a start.

Didn't you win Ulster (confined to province) , Div 2 champions, Nicky Rackard Cup (beat us in The Hyde) , All Ireland Schools LGFA 'C' championship. . ?? Not a bad year atall A bit like ourselves you have a couple of senior and u 21 titles but you are probably the most improved team in the country over past 12 months Curlew66 (Roscommon) - Posts: 577 - 01/08/2024 13:50:23 2563428 Link 0 |
You'll never make the PSNI chief! I didn't admit anything! Just pointing out that if self appointed lads like you go out of your way to be disliked then there's a reasonable chance you'll be successful! It applies to all from anywhere! Absolutely no issues with "nordies" (your word) from me! You do realise how apt the anagram of your user name is! Onion_Sack (Dublin) - Posts: 256 - 01/08/2024 18:00:08 2563481 Link 2 |

So the way to win was not try to win? You don't even make sense. No team can win an All Ireland without being good at attacking. Some people obviously only see what they choose to see.

So Jarlath Burns should pretend he's not from Armagh, pretend he doesn't have a son winning his first All Ireland, pretend he doesn't know the manager and his decade long struggle to bring success to the county despite many hard luck tales along the way. He should just be another joyless robot muttering a few words and hand over the trophy because he might offend the losing county? The people of Galway are resilient folk and I'm sure can understand where his emotions come from. Frankly, would he be a true GAA man if that rare achievement on Sunday meant nothing to him?

I didn't say it meant nothing to him and yes he should be professional until after the cup is presented.

He was professional. It was his duty to give a speech and hand over the trophy, which he did.

He wasn't professional in the way he delivered that speech.

It's not Sunday mass, he has the right to make the speech his own. Fair enough if you didn't like it but does this really need to be as big an issue as it's been made out to be?

Doesn't need to be an issue at all. The GAA President is a confident optimistic man. More power to him.

The heading has the name of the great Connolly's of Galway and in John probably the greatest. I hope any discussion speeches does not take from that. I am pretty sure the Hurling men on here would never denigrate our heroes. Canuck (Waterford) - Posts: 2866 - 04/08/2024 20:51:49 2563825 Link 0 |
Canuck I think everyone on here hurling man/woman or not knows that poster's motivation when starting these threads. And hurling men would at least know that John Connolly did not give an All Ireland captain's winning speech. 2 of his brothers in fact had that honour in the same year.

Tom Smith often embeds some 'spot the deliberate mistake' in posts, just to see if anyone cares or is awake.
