I didn't name any Wexford players! Barrett played very well, but which of Fitzgerald, Rodgers and Duggan would you replace? Based on performances over the whole championship, or on the Final?

I'd have Harnedy and Barrett in ahead of Duggan and Rodgers. Harsh on Rodgers I know. Would you have Harnedy in your TOTY?

Tbh Harnedy has been my favourite Cork player since Bill Cooper retired. If you had of won the final I suppose he would be in my TOTY. Recency bias I guess. Although Harnedy was excellent in the final, along with Rob Downey, and then maybe Tim O Mahony. Those were your best 3 players, and Harnedy was your best forward on the day. I didn't think Barrett did all that well after the 1st quarter tbh.
At the same time I think Duggan has been one of Clares best players all year, along with Cathal Malone another really underrated Clare player. Davy Fitz is the top scorer from play in this year's Championship, and Rodgers was excellent too.

We'll agree to disagree. It's all subjective anyway!!

Of course it is BnB! That's why I'm not a huge fan of all stars.

One question. Are we talking about team of the year, or team of the championship? It seems to me that we are going down the same road as the Sunday Game experts and the All-Star selectors i.e. completely ignoring the league matches.

You could pencil in Gillane straight away. His consistency in scoring and his play in every game. Players put in who had great games but consistency in every game by Gillane makes him an automatic. Not that this sham exercise like the All-Stars makes any difference anyway.

Gillane scored 1 point from play in 3 games prior to the semi final, as an inside forward. I did actually have him down but on reflection that is probably not enough for place on that team.

I'd only have one limerick player on the team..Nicky quaid would be that one ahead of Pa Collins due to the cork puck out failures on for bal day,up to that thought Collins was a certainty..I wouldn't be picking gillane because he was very quite in Munster..Diarmaid Ryan and David blanchfield and possibly cian Kenny would be fellas unlucky to be left out..I know only 15 can be picked so it's always going to be ripe for disagreement..cathal Malone also I thought did very well for Clare..

Cathal Malone is an unsung hero

He deserves an all star and is vital to us but won't get one I think. He was super in the final .

Quaid ahead of Collins. I don't rate Collins and after the Clare RR match Cork lads were gunning for his head. He was good v Limerick but not great again in final. Short passing is not his style and does not suit him
