Ha! Wondered if it might have been somebody starting a thread just to prolong the argument all right..... :) Will be in Thurles myself on Saturday, as my own club is not actually involved in Féile. Some of the venues are not far from me though, so under other circumstances, would have wandered along at some stage to see some of the action. Pity the way it's worked out, but I'm not going to mention that war here either! Pikeman96 (Wexford) - Posts: 2621 - 19/06/2024 14:56:52 2553028 Link 0 |
As an admirer of Feile for more than 50 years, I think it's nothing short of disgraceful that Wexford have to play an All-Ireland quarter final far from home while so many true hurling men (and women) cannot attend because they are too busy helping to promote our great game among the young players in their clubs and county. midlands (Westmeath) - Posts: 583 - 19/06/2024 18:38:10 2553078 Link 3 |
Amen brother, but you can thank Clare (who wanted a change a few days earlier and then voted against it) and many other counties not involved this weekend for that situation developing.

Come on, this isn't all on Clare, or any other county for that matter. This is once again just another symptom of the issues the GAA hierarchy has brought on itself. Split the season, increase the amount of games and condense the season to the extent intercounty games are something to get out of the way as quickly as possible with no room the breath. Throw in on top of that the increased infleunce and control the gaa have handed rte over our association and you end up with the issues we have seen, these and others. The sooner Jarlath Burns gets around to fixing some of the issues that have been foisted upon us the better. tearintom (Wexford) - Posts: 1427 - 20/06/2024 11:45:48 2553163 Link 0 |
