That does not answer my question was it a penalty or not ? it was a very close call " And I would not bet against Cork going all the way now that they have their worst form behind them and possibly their best form in front of them

According to present rules, yes. The foul which prevents a goal-scoring opportunity no longer has to be in the square. Mind you, it does not always seem to be given.

The rule is if you are the last man it's a penalty and black card. Clear goal scoring chance. If its outside the box and there are 3 defenders there to one attacker then if you have a ref making up the rules as he goes along it's a penalty and no black card....
