Replying To Kew:  "Casement park was the issue burns should have focused on during his term."
Why?

I'm sure he means the previous president but that's probably to much for you to decipher… Burns is more interested in renting stadiums out rather than GAA matches taking place in them…

Another disappointment. More interested in having GAA suit other interests on lots of things.

Telescoped championships and Harding over pitches to rival sports is shortsighted organisational desth wish. Seems to be common .

As is the great Joe. Form is temporary. Pedigree is permanent.

Barney, If you were GAA president there'd be a moat and drawbridge around the organisation and space to pour oil on anyone without pure Irish blood who comes near the place. Soccer and Rugby came and went from Croker years ago and nobody died or nothing was lost because of It. The same would be the case if it happend again. Move with the times and stop living in 1916 with your keyboard loaded. There's more to life than division.

Is this something for the GAA hierarchy to look at.?

Personally I think it is a non runner, and only for soundbites....

Whilst on the subject of GAA players, men and women, moving to Aus for football, the cash incentives are massive.
If successful, they are somewhat life changing I would imagine.

Which makes me think, are counties/companies/individuals giving players a helping hand so to speak, in order to try to persuade them from going over..?
Personally, I think some players are being looked after here, in order to help persuade them to stay.
Just my personal opinion.

Of course, heading over is not for all, and some try it and come back, eg CK, but certain players would be a perfect fit over there and are either homebirds or are being looked after financially, college, job or whatever.
But let's not say it too loud..... lol

Certainly, at the minute the amount of female players heading over is on the increase. And more power to them to give it a try.

The lure of a different lifestyle, being a professional sportsperson or just for financial reasons cannot be understated.

Some players are certainly being looked after or helped from an employment point of view, in order to encourage them to stay.
It's not even a secret. Mickey Harte was quite open that they worked on getting Cathal McShane a good job in order to help him stay here a few years ago, when it looked like he was all set to go the AFL.

And the top players being especially well looked after, in order to hold on to them, it could be suggested.

A lot of it comes down to player ambition also.

Is it easier for the girls to get on 1st teams over there?

Yes, a lot easier as there just aren't the same numbers playing the women's game over there. Cora Staunton said that the talent pool is quite shallow as the game is relatively new for women, so it's easier for them to make an impact.
Our LGFA players are already at very high level when they get over there, given how much ladies football has developed over the past couple of decades.

Was it burns who signed up to all these club rugby games in croke park? He really is using this position to go into politics in my opinion.
