Replying To ORIELMAN85:  "It won't stop him whinging. Still having withdrawal symptons from 1947. He has no interest in GAA or allowing players to do what they want to do, play games. Having to pay to watch Cavan play 3 All Ireland Championship games is a deep cut too. Was much happier when his County took their annual beating in first round in Ulster and the lads could use their months of training to light up Gaelic Park. Like many others in his county he is living in the distant past. Doesn't realise we can get to Killarney, Cork and Galway without spending days cycling there. Like all good sporting Championships throughout the world our competition builds up the interest and excitement as it goes along. Next thing he will be telling the Yanks to do away with the prelimaries and just go straight to the Super Bowl. Dispense with having to watch the Chiefs destroying the Panthers 55-3 in Week 3 in a half empty stadium in Carolina in September. Walter Mitty is alive and kicking."
Brilliant! Sums it up perfectly.

Any team that loses three matches should be out of the championship. That's my view whether it's my county or anyone else's. I'd love to have a good Roscommon team to follow. I don't at the moment and I'm realistic enough to acknowledge that rather than post the sort of nonsense that you regularly post.

Replying To shaggykev:  "Anyone got attendance from yesterday.

Looked decent crowd at Derry game. Cork Tyrone didn't look too shabby either. Donegal fans like myself were holding back for next day out.

The gaps between games really affects attendance. Cost of living pinching many on top of a convoluted system and lack of clarity for venues, dates and times.

Like one thing overlooked is hurling groups are well known in advance so people can plan well in advance about which games to attend with friends and family."
All good Points kev, with 3/4 games within a month, people who get paid monthly obviously can't attend games under the condensed structure, not all millionaires like Orielman.

The lack of clarity too on fixtures in advance certainly doesn't help entice people especially where long journeys need planned.

These reasons combined with the structure itself are reasons that people voting with their feet despite what others here will try sugar coat.

Thankfully the brains in power have plans in place

I'd say American football is more your game alright… You seem to know a lot more about it that what's going on in the GAA that's for sure… Clare will come on lots too after yesterday's trashing in this ridiculous Championship nobody has any interest in…..

5,127 Donegal v Clare

19,212 fro Cork v Tyrone but that was double header figure with Cork v Offlay in Hurling.

I know I won't have many more days following my own county but I've been to every game they played this year since January and I will be wherever they are next weekend. And I will sit down this afternoon and watch 4 of the country's best going toe to toe. And I will enjoy watching the remaining games in this championship.

As will all GAA fans, myself included. Like most true Roscommon and Monaghan fans we will follow our counties through thick and thin and when our counties are not playing we attend or watch other GAA games for the love of the sport. The whIngers be dawned.

Games on Saturdays are generally not as well attended as games on Sundays.

As I said already the expected crowd was 5k, a little under 4000 was no small part to your own support. Was smallest crowd I've seen Cavan bring to match against us, not even a 1000 from Cavan attended the match yesterday I would say,

I would agree with you there… but 3k or less from Roscommon is in itself pityfull… just proves nobody has any interest in this dreadful championship set up.

16,300 at Cork V Offally. This was a double header so attendance inflated by a few thousand from Tyrone.

It would be helpful if people stuck to the attendance numbers rather than bickering. It's down to knockout games from here on so be interesting to see figures .
4 preliminary football quarter finals , 2 hurling quarter finals and Tailitean cup semi finals up next weekend.

Don't understand' Cork hurlers regularly play in front of 30 - 40k in championship games whereas the footballers including Tyrone play in-front of 5-10k
So yes inflated by football supporters

Thankfully the right man is in charge now who gets the meaning of championship and can stop the All Ireland Series dwindling deeper into the mud

Yes agree, some trash talk over past month or so - stick to attendances.
