Tomemith here

Following prolong promptings from the great Mrs T it is with deep regret that I wish to announce that it is my intention to retire from inter County posting on Hoganstand.
I enjoyed my time imparting my knowledge and expert Views .
I know I will leave the site which is much richer of my contributions.

Don't go, please don't go. Everyone is going to remember where they were the day Tom Smith retired.

Bye Tom.
I'm not sure what I'll miss more.
Your daft threads or how worked up Killing fields used to get on them.
Enjoy your retirement :)

Will club posting continue Tom Smith?

The Cavan forum will have a major influx of visitors now. Could be a great promotional tactic by the Cavan forum too. Exclusive to Cavan Hoganstand Tom Smith and Mrs Tom Smith!!! I hope it can handle it all.

I was far from only one go comment on his threads and plead for his trolling to stop or at least keep the trolling up but drop the saying "tomsmith here" when it was needless as your username is on every post already

No good retirement was ever complete without at least 1 comeback.

If I was a cynical man I'd suggest that maybe Tomsmith was a character created by the administration to stir up activity. But I'm not.....

Not surprised that Tom has decided to retire. Once HS decided to put all his postings in one thread, "The Musings of Tom Smith" , it kind of signalled the end of the line for him! Henceforth his contributions would be missing the same dramatic impact that they had when he was able to post his own individual threads. The longwinded thread titles were the most amusing and entertaining aspect of his contributions. Invariably I would click on them just to see how many people were annoyed by what he wrote. Probably the last colourful poster on HS is stepping aside.

That is one of life's great mysteries. Is he man or myth ? He certainly is / was a "marmite" character. I found him amusing. To some on here he was like a red rag to a bull. Now we will never know. Perhaps it's just as well.

One thing for sure is he could wind posters up spring tight, a couple in particular, I'm glad to say I never replied to any of his posts.

He had so-called long-lasting Elite posters eating out of his hand, he had more replies than most other posters and that says a lot, to make it better he is leaving this forum on his own terms and not being bullied into leaving.

He submitted and posted his own resignation; however, I can see him coming out of retirement in the near future wearing a borrowed jersey so to speak.

Probably just a Neil Warnock retirement. He'll be back next with some other pointless thread.

Beauty of these posts are that you don't have to read them - or reply. Some people seem to read all posts till they find something to get upset about. A wonderful thing, free will.
