To be fair, foreveryoung was talking about public safety and travelling and it was a very long journey to and from in atttricious weather conditions. Why on earth did the Gaa drag both clubs up to Limerick city? Both clubs woukd have supporters from as young as 5 yrs old and as old as well maybe 90 yrs old and they all have to get to these matches somehow as well as everybody in between.. Club football is deep and and these people support through thick and thin and days like today don't happen without them.. Young lads would play football in any conditions which they did very impressively today but today was much more than a bit rain and looking at each parish as a whole, Castlehaven supporters had to make a round trip of approx 330km and Dingle supporters 306km. Is this safe on bad roads? Is this not very irresponsible of the GAA to expect this when there was a far easier halfway ground? And Ryanteam, our back roads might not be full of traffic but on days like today they are very treacherous so please look at the big picture here. Finally I think penalties are an absolute shocking way to end any Gaa match. Plenty of time for a replay. The football on display today was an absolute credit to both clubs in hurricane conditions. Both sets of players just went for it, displaying pure courage and honest football which in my opinion is better than any county football I've witnessed in recent years. Its a pity there had to be a loser today but club football was the real winner"
Castlehaven have St.Brigids next and bar injuries should be 50/50 game. Memories of a recent county final between Castlehaven and St Finbarrs would have been fresh in the players minds, when Barrs won a titantic battle after penalties. Tough luck to Dingle and the game was a credit to both teams.

For me Killarney would had made more sense. But because Killarney doesn't have floodlights it couldn't be played there. Is there a rule it can't be played in a home county?

I can remember a few Leinster club finals that were played in home counties. Birr v Ballyboden in Tullamore around 2008? So don't think there is a rule.

And obviously all the Leinster Club Finals which involve Dublin teams and which are played in Croke Park.

And don't take that as a swipe at Dublin sides having "home" advantage - am just pointing them out as examples.

The provincial club championships are run by the provincial councils themselves though, so Munster might have a different rule to Leinster. There's also the chance that both sides indicated they wouldn't give home county advantage to to the other, and so a neutral venue had to be used instead.

There is no rule. The Munster council offered a coin toss for home venue but the offer was declined by one of the teams if not two so neutral venue to Limerick.

Sorry to see Daingean lose. They were my dark horse to win the AI. Had two good chances to put two between them near end.

Whole competition is wide open really. I don't think Crokes are as good as they were last year and if they makes similar lapses as in earlier games Glen will be ruthless enough to take advantage. Hopefully, i am wrong again.
