Yeah it's true, R.Emmetts dropped out of the Junior A Championship. The Junior A & B draws had already taken place, resulting in the fixtures in their Junior A group needing to being altered. Tricky situation for the county board, if they didn't agree to it then the club would likely not field and the board don't want a club not participating in championship football.

Eunans have a fourth team entered in the Junior B. Naomh Conaill have a fourth team entered in the Senior C (according to the fixtures).
I would have thought that Naomh Conaill will field their second team in the junior A even though it is labelled as a C team as it is a more competitive competition than the senior B. Eunans have done this to an extent the last few years.

They feel that the Senior B has gotten that weak now that they will be better tests in the Junior A Championship. I know the smaller clubs in the Junior A probably won't be happy with it but at least they are trying to get better games. Makes a change from the likes of Lifford and Castlefinn taking the easy option and dropping down a grade without even being relegated.

Only problem is all the big clubs will follow suit next year which will probably diminish the chances of the smaller clubs. I would presume the top junior teams will relish the opportunity of playing these games.
