Very hard to win back to back titles. Don't see how you could have Kilanerin ahead of them yet. They bet a mediocre Starlights team, wouldn't be getting too carried away. Agree Castletown could have their measure

Kilanerin have put alot of work in. Rapps were 3rd favourites at the bookies after Shels and Castletown before this weekend.

I'd agree. if Kilanerin keep lads fit they're fav's to me. They 9/1 before the weekend too outright!

In all honesty Starlights probably didn't pick up a football until the weekend. The stronger dual clubs will get better week on week with more football. Kilanerin flying now but nothing handed out after round one.

They were 12-1 before the weekend and I didn't get time to get to the bookies throw a few bob each way on them!

Kilanerin were quick out of the blocks last year as well and looked the team to beat. Any idea which round they play Shels in? that could be their first test but hard not to see them as the 1/2 in the group either way

I managed see a good few games over the last two weeks. A good few teams have players missing for various different reasons so I think its hard to really gauge where teams are at. This time next week we will have a better picture of what way the groups will finish up. A couple of teams desperately need 2 points this weekend.

In Group A of the senior, both Bunclody and Sars will be delighted to get a win under theirs belts. Especially Bunclody, not many would of given them a chance to get out of the group but with both Sarsfields and Crossabeg to play they will fancy their chances. This group is really open, I think Castletown will top it comfortably enough and any of the other five teams can beat other so it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

in Group B, both Kilanerin and the shels have been very comfortable in their opening games, they play each other last and I think the winner will top the group. I know St James were down a good few this weekend, unless they manage to pick something up against Starlights in the fourth game they could be going in against Fethard in the final game on 0 points having to win it to avoid a relation battle. Fethard had a couple of people for the game against Gusserane and it made a big difference, they have a small panel so they really struggle when down a couple of key players. A huge game for them this weekend against Starlights. Starlights have put in tow pretty poor performances so will be looking for a big one this weekend, lose and they will be getting nervous too. I also seen their Junior team gave a walkover this weekend too

On a different topic. I see both Donegal and Meath are now taking cash at the turnstiles. I could understand why they went cashless during covid but to continue to have online tickets only is ridiculous. Grossly unfair to the elderly supporter who has followed his/ her team all their lives and don't have smart phones or laptops.
Now wexford county board why not follow Donegal and Meath and show some respect to the not so young supporter? Remember cash is legal tender.

Had planned on watching a game on Saturday on wex gaa tv but for some reason they cancelled the stream. Wexford GAA putting very little into the football championship compared to the hurling. Barely a highlight from this weekends action.

Is football in Enniscorthy on the decline I see the starlights junior team (second string) and shamrocks (first string) both gave walk overs it's sad times for a town when only one team played out of a possible 3

And on a somewhat associated point - I see both Fethard and St. James' gave walkovers in the Ross District Junior B at the weekend.

Some might say "it's only Junior B", but add them into the mix with Starlights, and that means three senior clubs weren't able to field a second team. Surely that has to be a bad sign too?

The amount of players missing due to Electric Picnic at the weekend shows the half hearted interest in football in the county at the moment.

Ah, could have been the Electric Picnic factor all right.

Not my cup of tea, but young lads are different :)
