Thinking of going to Parnell Park this Wednesday for the double football header. Tried to buy a ticket on-line yesterday without success. Is it ticket only or can I pay cash on the night?
If it is ticket only where can I buy a ticket?

They won't take cash. It is a really bad site but there is usually a ticket link hidden somewhere!

Thanks Ollie2 and Barney. I managed to get a ticket on the dublin gaa website. The matches were not up on the site when I looked on earlier.

They must read HS!

Be interesting to see if CK togs tonight. I'd imagine so. Be interesting championship this year. I expect Ballymun to have a serious cut off it, given similar age profile to the county team and indeed involving some of the key players in both.

Can't see Kickhams being beaten all the same. Cuala as dark horses.

Apologies, meant to say Crokes not being beaten.

Will be interesting to see what sort of team and performance Kickhams have tomorrow given the week that's in it. They might be banking on beating Templelogue and Ballinteer in other games to go through. Boden be well up for this one.

Hope you got there?

Boden and Kickhams was excellent game for neutrals (even those of us who can never be neutral if Boden are playing :-)

All of Ballymun's heroes played at some stage although Paddy Small departed early with what looked like a hamstring issue, Rock was good when he came on. Brilliant goal from Bolger gave them a chance but their dreadful kick outs caught them in the end with an opportunistic goal well taken by Colm of the Basquels.

Big crowd too for this early stage, Well over 1,000 from my perch? Castleknock never really looked like being beaten in first game by Harps and both really extras to be honest.

Was there also Barney.

Skerries came back well at one stage and missed 2 great goal chances and kicked some silly wides, but C'knock were the better team.

In the 2nd game, the scoreline flattered Boden a bit - only a point in it with a couple of mins to go, but there was a terrible mistake that gifted Boden their late goal.

John Small was excellent and Collie was unmarkable at stages.

Yes, Paddy picked up a hamstring injury very early on. Hopefully he is back for the remaining group games..

On a side note, delighted to see MDMA on the pitch - true gent.

Great chatting to some of the Dublin players last night - all still absolutely glowing about the victory over kerry.

It was very clear how much that victory meant to them.

Big shout out for Deano who is getting married tomorrow but played his part last night.

Colm B is really coming into his own in fairness. Last night was first night he really stood out to me in a club game as someone who if you knew nothing about him you'd have down for a county player.

Lots of county men in the crowd. Eoin Murchan was sitting near us as were interestingly a few observers from outside!

Was in Parnell Park last night Barney. Great night for a match and Parnell Park is a fantastic venue as the stand is so close to the pitch. Did not see all of the first match but Castleknock were clearly the best team. The second match could have gone either way but as a neutral, I think that Ballyboden deserved it. Good standard of play and it was great to see so many All Ireland winners back on the field of play. Fair play to them. I was really impressed with Colm Basquel who had a fantastic first half and never stopped running all night. Player of the match for me. John Small also played well for Ballymun. I did not think that Barney Rock had a great match when he came on. (Maybe other things on his mind!). In all his career, I can never remember him balooning a free kick high in the air that was heading for the corner flag. I hope that he has his scoring boots back on for tomorrow night.

Now, now. Keep it country!

He did have a few bloopers in fairness. Kickhams don't have same power and scoring threat as in other years. Although Bolger for a small lad is lethal when he gets the right supply. Still reckon they'll come through and improve. Boden also not the force they were. Hadn't realised how many of the old timers were gone, assuming that they are.

Ah well in fairness to Barney he is doing well to be playing at his age.He is in his 60 s now lol! All jokes aside I know you meant Dean and yes he has other things on his mind now with his upcoming marriage to Niamh McEvoy and the best of luck to both of them. Glad you enjoyed the evening letsgetgoing and yes Parnell park is a lovely venue for games and it generates a nice athmosphere.

There always are few observing spies from outside at our club games... ;o)

It was a good evening. Still basking in the afterglow of the big one, but nice to see plenty of interest in where it all comes from.

Your own countyman PG was there Mick. Think he's mobbed up with Brigids?

I did nt actually go .Was it Paul Geaney you saw Barney? I cant imagine him transferring to Brigids as he has a pub in Dingle and a very good clubman.

Paul Galvin I'd say Mick.

Thought he was with Plunkett's though.

Paul Galvin I would think Mick.

He is regularly seen at Dublin club games.
