Replying To Past hurler:  "Population of an area is one thing but population that actually plays hurling is another thing.

Oulart consistently have 3 Adult hurling teams and they have huge panels on their underage squads, I think I counted 26 kids on their under 14 panel."
To put that into context Glynn Barntown had approx 45 lads at u12 this year. Shels, Gorey, Castletown, and Martins also would've had alot more than 26.

Replying To Throughthemidfieldhewasstormin:  "Ya, great to see clubs coming from outside the traditional clubs. Need these clubs (as well as the traditionally successful ones) the more clubs we've competing the better for Wexford hurling. The final between Oulart and Cushinstown was a real battle and a controversial finish to it with Oulart winning goal in 6th minute of added time. Thought both teams were very well coached but let down by some amateurish organization by county board. It was a premier final and wasn't given the respect of one. Scoreboard there but not used, not enough officials, game should've been played in Bellefield, Wexford Park etc...even smaller things like no anthem or the trophy presentation being a bit haphazard. Didn't Create any occasion for it, county finals are hard get to and no guarantees of getting to another one. Just looked poor, especially since these are the lads who'll be playing with Wexford minors next year and hopefully senior down the line and felt they didn't get the respect from organizers in how disorganized it looked and not creating a bit of occasion about it. Might seem like small things but it wouldn't happen in Kilkenny, Tipp, Galway, Limerick, Cork etc for a premier underage final. Just seemed very amateurish, but the fare on the pitch was anything from, two super teams. Need to expect more from lads running these things. It's not a lot to change those things but creates a better mentality and feel about hurling. Maybe I'm overstating it but I've seen it a bit with Wexford competitions down the last few years. Set our standards higher here. It all feeds in to it. But was a good game between two good teams doing a lot right at underage"
Cushinstown are doing great work at underage. There'll likely be a couple of that team on the intercounty minor team next year.

That's it.

Between Oylegate and Glenbrien Primary Schools we have 136 boys.

That's an an average of 34 boys at U6, U8, U10 and U12.

I'd say that we have an average panel size of 24 players at each of these grades so thats a 70% participation rate.

I'd imagine Oulart and The Ballagh schools are a similar size , maybe a 150 boys between both.

Looks like Cloughbawn have a tough draw in Intermediate too with Thomastown winning the KK final by 15 points after winning the SF by 20 and QF by 18, Michael Doyle of Glynn Barntown managed Tullogher Rosbercon to the Junior title ( equivalent of Intermediate A here).

Thomastown really should've gone up before now. That was their 4th final in 5 years I think. Well done to Doyle, Tullogher were one of the favourites but it still was a great achievement.

Yeah your right on Thomastown and the Covid final they lost on penalties, Freshford were seen as favourites for Junior I believe but Tullogher weren't rated much further back.

Thomastown finally ended their term as being the bridesmaid in intermediate, can see them holding their own in seniors , very tough contest for cloughbawn but I think it's Wexford venue for the clash ain't ?

Cloughbawn have plenty of injuries since the county final I was told during the week. The few that were out injured for wexford club championship are still out too. Could be a big win for the kilkenny club.

Gorey, Cloughbawn and Craanford all at home the weekend of Nov 11/12, Gorey had on their social media that their game is on the Saturday evening in the park and on RTE but its down on the Leinster website at the moment for the Sunday. Craanford playing Kildavin/Clonegal who wouldn't be far away from them at all.

The Gorey match was originally down for Saturday evening and RTE coverage, but it's been changed to Sunday afternoon and TG4. Don't know what match RTE have chosen to show instead on the Saturday.

Haven't heard anything, with the split season I'd say there's a good chance he'll stay with Oylegate.

Big effort to improve physical performance and the facilities will be a huge addition for the underage talent coming through.

I say the chance of a Split club season next year is low.
Is it Club/ County you are on about?

U18 Premier Football Champions? That currently belongs to the Duffry.
There are currently 10/12 different finals at every grade so don't just rely on winning something as a sign of success.
But yes, plenty of talent in O/G.
