Lory Meagher Cup round 1
Lancashire v Longford, Pairc na hEireann, 4pm

Christy Ring Cup round 1
Sligo v London, Markievicz Park, 12.30pm
Tyrone v Derry, O'Neill's Healy Park, 1.45pm
Meath v Mayo, Pairc Tailteann, 2pm

Nickey Rackard Cup round 1
Wicklow v Louth, Aughrim, 2pm

Donegal v Fermanagh, Letterkenny, 2pm

Lory Meagher Cup round 1

Meath are favourites to win the Ring Cup. Just as there is a gap from the top 9. There is also a gap from the top 18.

All the UK based teams had bad leagues so it'll be interesting to see how they fair in Championship. Lancashire playing their home games in Birmingham is probably difficult (circa 2 hours travel from Manchester).

Hard to call all cups Meath and Derry favourites in Christy Ring, Wicklow and Donegal in Nicky Rackard, Monaghan, Cavan, Leitrim and Longford in Lory Meagher.

Christy Ring Cup round 2

A surprise loss for Meath in London.

Fermanagh 1-12 - 1-14 Wicklow

Fermanagh nearly pulled off the surprise of the weekend. They have virtually no clubs compared to Wicklow

And none at all compared to Cork.

A Division in cork have more clubs than most of the counties in the ring, rackard and meagher cups.

Do they still only have one club?

The ring cup is very even this year and Tyrone drawing with Derry and London beating Meath blows it wide open. Mayo despite finishing 2nd last year may find themselves relegated ulsess they beat someone like Sligo

McDonagh Final
Offaly v Carlow/Laois
Relegated: Down most likely

Ring Final
Meath v London (or maybe Derry)
Relegated: Mayo

Rackard Final
Donegal v Wicklow is a cert already
Relegated: Fermanagh/Louth (depends on scoring diff)

Meagher Final
2 out of Cavan, Monaghan and Longford

The Ring is a closer battle than I expected. London beat Meath last time out. There was only 2 points between Meath and Derry. After 3 games, Meath have a points difference of +2.
Meath's final two games are against Tyrone and Sligo. Tyrone drew with Derry and beat Mayo by a bigger margin than Meath. Sligo have beaten London and Tyrone. After three rounds, five teams are still in the hunt for the final. More competitive than the highly praised McDonagh so far.

Ring is very competitive. The rackard cup has three tiers in terms of level with Wicklow and Donegal miles clear and Louth and Fermanagh at the bottom

Odd to see Mayo doing so poorly, they are at full strength with all of the Tooreen players back and would be expected to beat both London, Tyrone but beaten by both by a bit to spare at home.

Donegal impressing so far. Wonder will the final be more like when Wicklow hammered us up here or when we ambushed them in the league semi. Bit of craic in our house for it anyway as the wife is from Wicklow

Fermanagh were very unlucky in their two games against Donegal & Wicklow. Were on top of Donegal until a red card and only lost by two points to Wicklow. Fermanagh are really punching above their weight in fairness to them this year.

I think Cavan have to be favourites for Lory Meagher. They've brought in a couple of Cuala players from Dublin alongside Nicky Kenny who captained Cuala to an club All Ireland and Canice Maher (Kilkenny), both now living and going out with / married to a Cavan women.

Disappointing to see Kildare back in the Ring Cup. Thought they would have pushed on

They never seemed to recover from that league final loss to Offaly…
