Replying To OpenStand:  "None of the 4 outsiders close to victory this weekend. Thats means 4 out of 22 in football to date and 1 out of 9 in Hurling.
1 football outsider next week Louth 10/1 v Dublin and 1 in hurling Waterford 2/1 v Clare"
Neither outsider won last weekend so 4 out of 23 to date in football and 1 out of 10 in hurling.
This weekend in football outsiders ( 2/1 or better ) they are three
Mayo 11/4 v Kerry
Tyrone 5/2 v Galway
Sligo 9/2 v Kildare

In Hurling
Dublin 11/2 V Kilkenny
Tipp 11/4 v Limerick
Antrim 16/1 v Galway
Westmeath 14/1 v Wexford.

Tyrone in Football and Tipp in Hurling best chances of an upset me thinks.

Don't think Tyrone would be an upset.

I think, particularly in absence of Forde, that Limerick will win, but 11/4 Tipp is the most likely one to go against the odds, if any do.

Sligo to beat Kildare at 9/2 is not a bad bet for a long shot. Two teams who are pretty much on same level so I'd have Kildare maybe 4/7 rather than 1/4 on basis that they've been beaten by more better teams than Sligo of late,

Have a few quid on them so and hopefully they click for you.
Just for the context of this thread i'm counting how many teams over the season were 2/1 or greater with Patricia Powers and won or lost so its the bookies that are installing any of these teams as outsiders.
Not many outsiders are winning - in football Clare beating cork, Roscommon beating Mayo , New York Beating Leitrim & Monaghan beating Tyrone & In Hurling Clare beating Limerick the only upsets with books to date.

Kerry losing to Mayo to add to the list.
I note Kerry are still shorter odds for Sam though

I'd call it a mild surprise at most.

Probably the biggest upset of the year this weekend as Westmeath at 14/1 beat Wexford in Leinster Hurling giving us 2 out of 14 upsets in hurling so far.
One more upset in football as 11/4 Mayo beat Kerry in Killarney. 5 out of 26 upsets todate.

I was shot down a while back when I suggested that the likes of Westmeath were on par with Wexford at the moment.

Wexford were 1/50 to beat Westmeath & 16 points up at half time.
Westmeaths victory must have been the most forlorn hope in the history of the GAA at half time that was overcome by an outsider . Fair play to them .

Good weekend for upsets , in Hurling Waterford 5/1 beat Tipperary & Wexford 11/4 beat Kilkenny . Dublin & Cork nearly added upsets. Thats 4 out of 18 upsets landed in hurling to date.
In Football Roscommon,Westmeath & Monaghan came close without winning so thats still 5 out of 29 possible upsets to date in football.

This weekend was all the 2nd v 3rd seeds and 1st v 4ths
Not a single 2nd seed won their match away v a 3rd seed.

Definitely something wrong with the seeding system.

Will need to tweak the system a bit to fix that anomaly but I like the system in General.

Everyone has something to play for next week

There was only one qualifier last weekend in Hurling Clare 9/4 who fell short narrowly meaning 4 upsets landed out of 19 to date. There are 2 qualifiers this weekend in hurling
Offaly 16/1 v Tipp
Carlow 10/1 v Dublin.
In football theres 8 matchs with 8 outsiders
Clare 9/1 v Derry
Donegal 9/4 v Monaghan
Sligo 18/1 v Dublin
Kildare 7/2 v Roscommon
Louth 9/1 v Kery
Cork 4/1 v Mayo
Armagh 11/4 v Galway
Westmeath 11/2 v Tyrone.
Not sure will many/any of the 10 outsiders this weekend pull it off.

Its all Ireland Hurling & Football not Mcdonagh cup or Tailtean, theres a limit to how much can be covered. For what its worth Laois & Wexford are overpriced in Tailtean

Out of interest, and using that scenario how do you think a Tipp. v Dublin game would go.?

Big weekend of upsets with Cork 4/1 , Kildare 7/2 & Donegal 9/4 beating Mayo, Rossies & Monaghan whilst Westmeath nearly pulled off a big upset. So thats 8 out of 44 upsets landed YTD.
In hurling the 2 outsiders lost so 4 upsets out of 21 possibilities YTD.

only one qualifying outsider this weekend Dublin 6/1 in hurling beaten so 4 out of 22 winners in hurling ytd.
Next weekend 4 football q finals , 3 qualifiers
Cork 11/4 v Derry
Monaghan 2/1 v Armagh
Tyrone 9/4 v Kerry
Have to think Tyrone & Monaghan in particular have potential to win
