Very sad news. By all accounts a gentleman and someone who was extremely well regarded in any of the counties he found himself working in. He treated his players like adults and allowed them freedom to live their lives outside of the GAA as well.

My sympathies to his family, his friends and all the GAA communities that will be mourning his loss.

I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times. A very likeable man and a man that did great work with Limerick and Tipp footballers in particular. Was just starting his journey with Offaly. Was on the Kerry All Ireland winning panel in 1984.May he rest in peace.

He was on the sideline on Friday night when Laois played Offaly in a challenge match in Portlaoise so shocking to hear this news come-in less than 48 hours later.

Will be fondly remembered by Laois Gaels as he very capably filled the big shoes of Micko when he took over at Laois and got us back to a Leinster Final.

Thoughts with his family and friends and to the lads in the Offaly Senior Team.

RIP Liam. Will always be fondly remembered in Tipp for taking them to an All Ireland semi final which no one could have dreamed of. By all accounts the players thought extremely highly of him.
A big loss to the GAA but most of all our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Very fond memories of the job Liam did with Limerick's footballers.

Three Munster Finals and a Dara O'Se catch away from winning one. Championship wins over Offaly, Cavan and Cork when Limerick previously struggled to win games.

His reign in Limerick co-incided with the 'back door' being introduced in football so it was an exciting time to follow Limerick with games in Roscommon and Cavan taking us outside of the normal routine in Munster.

After he left Limerick continued to reach Munster Finals under Micky Ned with a solid foundation left in place for us.

He proved how good a manager he was when he repeated this success by lifting Tipperary to lofty heights.

A huge loss to sport but more importantly to his family. May he RIP.
