And the neutral venue v London will be Cardiff Arms Park, because that's about halfway between both sides.

Hey, it's as true as anything else you were told this morning.....! :)

I honestly think we are going through a 'changing of the guard' phase with respect to hurling and football similar to what we had in the period 2006 to 2012.
Looking at it I think the footballers are on a rise. I wouldn't be surprised to see the as serious contenders for the Tailteann cup. (with a bit of composure the could have beaten Louth and made a Leinster final which would have put them competing for Sam Maguire this year). Anyway the footballers will be in the Championship longer this year than the hurlers.
I do think they are on the rise and that would then sway it that some of the Dual players might jump the other way If Wexford are making the Sam Maguire playing the likes of Kerry Derry Donegal Dublin Mayo plus a good showing in the Leinster Championship each year - Semi final /final. 2 or 3 games in croker each year. Its a much better prospect than getting beaten by Antrim in Corrigan park or Westmeath in Mullingar.
Am not Anti Hurling at all - just saying - you heard it here first.

Double header with Cardiff v Zebre in the URC.

TC draw made. We are away to Sligo May 13/14, home to Antrim May 20/21, then have Tipp in a neutral venue on June 3/4.

That draw isn't the worst in the world, sligo are a good side, Antrim have a long journey to Wexford Park and a neutral venue against Tipp will possibly be somewhere like Fraher Field maybe.

Micko is old school Taghmon. Having the ball was only a secondary reason to play football;-)

How does the TC work? Do top 2 teams from all groups go through?

Yes. And the best 3 3rd placed teams

Top two is definitely achievable in this group

If it's not a contradiction in terms, I wouldn't be surprised if the neutral match v Tipp is somewhere a little bit surprising.

Last year's neutral match v Leitrim was in Parnell Park, instead of some midlands venue, like you might expect. And I'm fairly sure one or more of the final round Tailteann Cup games last year were doubled up with Sam Maguire Cup group games of the same weekend.

I also remember Kildare playing Dublin in Nowlan Park last year. They do allow football there sometimes!

That was a home game for Kildare but Newbridge was closed for redevelopment.

Looking at the fixtures in Sam McGuire that weekend the teams with home advantage are Monaghan, Meath, Tyrone, Cork, Derry, Westmeath, Roscommon and Cavan.

The Tailteann Cup fixtures are.
Kildare v Leitrim
Longford v Waterford
Sligo v Antrim
Wexford v Tipp
Fermanagh v Laois
Wicklow v Carlow
Down v Offaly
Limerick v London

If we were in a double header my guess would be Portlaoise with Longford/ Waterford or Wicklow/ Carlow or double header in Kilkenny with Wicklow/ Carlow.

Was in Parnell on Wednesday but arrived after the first two goals were conceded. The young lads tried hard but were far too open at the back and Dublin had way too much. Some really decent players in there with Rossitor at 14 very classy.

In fairness Wexford footballers play all their home games in Wexford Park except in the obyrne Cup when they give a few matches to Patrick's Park.

Desperately sad news coming out of Rathgarogue-Cushinstown today. A bigger football man you couldn't meet, and a gent to boot. Thoughts are with everyone down there. Puts things into perspective.
