Not a hope
Counties like wexford need at least a manager in their for 4years to build a team over time allowing for defeats along the win. And the players must buty into it.

We need someone experienced who can organise us defensively. We could do worse than Banty.

The apocalypse could hit us with everything wiped out but Banty would still find a bainisteor gig somewhere.

A Wexford man is required, no need for an outside manager.

Agreed a Wexford man would be preferable. But do we have anyone who wants the job that would be able to sort out our defense? Especially the transition back from attack when we have been wide open for goals the last 2 years? This has cost us most of our defeats.

There must be great money in county management, McEntee straight back at it with Antrim despite giving out about all the abuse he got in Meath and no doubt Banty will be back it soon enough as well... similar story with him. All for the love of the game of course. County boards are the bigger fools to be handing out the dosh.

Andy McEntee isn't stuck for cash, was a stock broker for years. Said recently he didn't take a penny from Meath County board. Not saying he wasn't paid for being manager, not sure what that meant really, but he's wealthy, not motivated to manage by money. If people think the money's so good for intercounty managers why don't they give up their jobs and try it......

I don't know where the Banty coming to Wexford again is coming from. Seems like wild speculation by some mischievous posters.
A statement by Banty after he resigned or was sacked from the Monaghan gig stated that he will be helping his club now and he would be supporting his county team from the stands.
However isn't it customers for someone in his position to say things like that until a managerial vacancy pops up.
I honestly can't invisag Wexford county board even considering him after his hasty departure the last time. Furthermore his record with his native county over the last three years has been very poor. Why on earth would we want him.
My own feeling is that he would have no interest in coming down here. If by any chance he was appointed it would indeed be a retrograde step.
What we require is a man with fresh ideas and somebody that's not afraid to make changes that will make us more competing again. We need a person with Passion and who will get the best out of the players . Getting a manager with Wexford in his veins might be difficult but I think it would be the best choice.

Wexford football needs to re-build from the bottom up, spending more money on an inter county manager when the players just are not there is good money after bad.

I'll knock what I want thanks very much. If you're happy to turn the other way that's your business.
