Some night in champions league last night. Haaland is some striker. Don't think City will peg back Arsenal but they could win champions league. Some of their football is spellbounding.

Hard to believe Biden is in Ireland keeping on eye on the peace when his own country is
one of the most violent. Our leaders need to go over there to decommission the yanks
weapons surely?

They might but won't play a team as poor as Bayern were last night. Real or Napoli still favourites for me but Milan could upset Napoli tonight.

Remember Bayern had a 100% record in this years competition including both legs against PSG, before last night. They did have their chances but were blown away on the night.

All a vote catching exercise…. He knows the Irish will be fawning over him and this will help with his Irish/American vote back home…. He like all American presidents before him couldn't give two hoots about the peace process…all for show.. He would be far better off tackling the gun lobbyists back home but he would rather be over here on an expensive junket…

You are perhaps correct by complete accident. I would say that neither of these players would have made the NZ team when they left to come here. However Ireland are the No 1 team in the world and at least two of them are starters on that team, there was never any guarantee that they would make that team - coming to Ireland has made them better players than what they were when they left and they have had to work hard to make it.
The reality is you just do not like rugby and see it as a treat to the GAA, which it is but rather than have confidence in the GAA to raise to the challenge, you have to make up reasons for your justify your narrow minded views of the game.

Didn't get 'blown away' at all, I thought just made critical defensive errors that City capitalised on. First goal, shot should have been closed down quicker. Second goal had similarities with a short kickout gaffe in GAA football, defender walking into Grealish with the ball. Third goal, cross needed to be closed down better after the corner. I didn't think City created a whole lot on the night, and were flattered with tte 3-0 scoreline imo.

The unionists up north getting all flustered…it's entertaining to watch. Sammy Wilson saying foreign interference in NI is not welcome was hilarious considering it was British foreign intervention and planting that kicked it all off in the first place.

Hundreds of thousands of Irish people (myself included) are employed by American companies and may not be living here only for that investment. It's also worth noting Irish owned companies employ over 100,000 in the US. Then you have the close family and cultural ties.

People moaning about a sitting US president visiting here really don't understand the economic and cultural importance of this. They wouldn't run a hen house themselves.

What's worse is those who absolutely understand the importance of US investment here but choose to peddle their treasonous nonsense to impressionable voters instead. .see the recent twitter contributions of a certain PBP TD.

3-0 flattered Bayern I thought. Could have been 5 or 6 but for some good goalkeeping. Haaland had enough space to turn a bus in for the third goal. Brutally bad naive defending. Bayern created a few chances but no end product. A 34 year old Lewandowski might have helped if they hadn't ran him out the door! They need a massive improvement to have any chance to progress next week but no doubts they still have plenty of quality.

I agree with everything you said there. I'm for Biden visiting. I'm for money, jobs and especially peace.
I'm saying that it is ironic that the leader of one of the most violent countries in the planet is keeping on eye on peace in Ireland. USA suffer about 35,000 gun murders each year. There are mass shootings every day.
Schools are shot up all the time, like Nashville last week. Families go through hell everyday in the USA because of lost loved ones. Politicians in America can't get their house in order. Maybe a peace envoy from Ireland or Canada or someplace could go to America to sort out the situation. It's very sad.

Comparing the violence and gun crime in the US to the peace, and by extension, the political violence in Ireland, is false equivalence. You are comparing apples and oranges.

The experts in peace would surely be a delegation from United Nations. They could negotiate a deal between the 2 American parties about their precious second amendment. (Both parties in USA are pro-second amendment)
Time to take the gun out of the hands of pimple faced teenagers and crazy yanks in general. My heart goes out to the families of the victims. I don't think Biden meets with these families?

It's madness. We all see it, but we know little to nothing will be done about it. I believe there are more guns in the US than people. I also read before that even if guns were stopped being sold today, it's estimated it would take well over 100 years before they'd be out of circulation in any meaningful way.
The fact that even small measures which should seem completely obvious to everyone, like background checks, are opposed tells us what they're dealing with.

Absolutely. If there was a sitting US President directly opposed to investment in Ireland (unlikely) then there would be major alarm bells ringing. Sammy and co getting all flustered because yet another figure of major importance is attempting to illustrate to them the benefits of having unique access to BOTH UK and EU markets. But no - flegs...

If the DUP were offered the chance to save the entire planet from utter annihilation by a meteorite by accepting a united Ireland they would undoubtedly just get their telescopes out and watch the big rock sending us all to our doom.
