Why not just give it to John O Shea on a permanent basis…. He comes across as a decent guy and the current squad of players seem to like him… How on earth is this Canham nobody getting paid…

The FAI are a farce of biblical proportions themselves.

You want to give the Permanent Irish job to someone who has never managed a club side before just because he is a decent guy and the current squad seem to like him (both of which the previous manager had already) Why not give it too Mickey D Higgins, sure hes a decent guy too DundalkGael (Louth) - Posts: 922 - 22/04/2024 17:15:21 2539936 Link 1 |
Wouldn't go if I got a ticket and €100….

You dismiss it as a friendly when genuine sports fans see it as a test top level match between top teams in the world

Utterly nonsense If you can no longer source international tickets it's because you aren't a member of a club, supporters club etc And that's the right way for it to be. Matches in every sport at top level are entertainment. And a social gathering. And for many can be their only opportunity to get away from stresses 9f work/family etc so should be more than entitled to a drink or two or whatever they like People going to matches be it gaa, rugby or soccer should be allowed drink at their seats if they wish to. Only if they hassle etc people next to them should there be intervention by stewards in the ground. What exactly is a genuine fan? What makes someone more genuine than anyone else. It's a bull***t word to describe supporters More games in gaa season? If you support a province in rugby you have 20+ games in actual competition before Friendlies though about half then are outside Ireland. In gaa you can only spread season out more if you change or adapt what happens with clubs and their seasons as otherwise some players will never get an off season and a break. If you reduce the ticket prices where do you address the shortfall in €€€€ KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 3704 - 23/04/2024 04:20:35 2540016 Link 0 |
More than half? What's this based on? KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 3704 - 23/04/2024 04:21:13 2540017 Link 1 |
How petty and childish are you that you are so triggered by a rival sport? What exactly is a toff and have you ever experienced rugby if you think they're all toffs? KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 3704 - 23/04/2024 04:23:02 2540018 Link 2 |
Giving it to O Shea would make more sense than what they are at…!

Looks like the Gaa rules will apply. I agree with that decision and hopefully the IRFU will apply the same rules to the Aviva.

very sad program on RTE last night. About the 1997, murder of Seán Brown, the chairman of Wolfe Tones GAC, of Bellaghy in Co. Down. By the LVF or UVF renegades. He was killed in retaliation for the killing of Policeman by the INLA. Serving members of the security services were involved in the killing and cover up. galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2585 - 23/04/2024 12:34:23 2540106 Link 1 |
You'd take the €100

Why would irfu do it? If there isn't problems as in trouble not people very occasionally having to let people by to get out of their seats then there's no reason to change KillingFields (Limerick) - Posts: 3704 - 23/04/2024 13:23:51 2540123 Link 2 |
The gaa top brass were as well play off the championship in jan-march to allow other sports and concerts in during the decent weather. That seems to be the way things are going. eslinchickenmaryland (Leitrim) - Posts: 274 - 23/04/2024 14:18:16 2540155 Link 0 |
"The tea was put on and Daddy didn't come home" That was a difficult watch, even for those of us who are versed in these matters. The dignity of the Brown family shining through against injustice. Every single GAA club across this Island has a Sean Brown, a good decent man dedicated to his community. Sean was murdered by State employed agents, at a minimum. Recent disclosures at the Inquest revealed intelligence documents that showed up to 25 people involved in the murder. Anyone who has any doubt that the UK Govt's Legacy legislation, which closes down any unfinished inquests and legal remedies, has anything to do with Reconciliation is deluded. The legislation is about covering up the UK's involvement and accountability in the murder of their own citizens, and others. Glensboy (Antrim) - Posts: 315 - 23/04/2024 14:27:33 2540159 Link 4 |
That is the whole point of the new legislation. UK are covering up their dirty work. The police investigation into Sean Brownes death was a laugh, cover up, denial etc. The recent Coroner's enquiry has led to the Secretary of State, deciding to bring a legal case against the Coroner, is an attempt to protect the State involvement. thelongridge (Offaly) - Posts: 1879 - 23/04/2024 15:01:38 2540181 Link 1 |
The extent to which the British state and its agents were directly responsible for such a large proportion of deaths including this one is ever more apparent. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3306 - 23/04/2024 15:29:30 2540191 Link 2 |
Well we have a Nationalist/Catholic First minister now. Would that have been possible in 1997. I don't think so. I was in tears watching this program. A decent man, tortured and shot by renegades. The INLA had recently killed a RUC/Police man. But Mr Brown had nothing to do with it.
