What's the thoughts on this clash? I'm hoping we can hang-in to the last 10 then you just never know. I do fear a backlash from Tyrone but I hope we don't just flop like we did against Donegal. Hopefully it will be a good open game. ardmhacha (Armagh) - Posts: 172 - 31/05/2022 20:03:47 2421474 Link 0 |
Think it'll be fairly high scoring and decent game. Can see Tyrone pulling away in the later stages but they have been very unpredictable this year to date. A Another (None) - Posts: 193 - 01/06/2022 14:10:53 2421581 Link 0 |
What a difficult game to call, its just so hard to tell where both teams are at. Tyrone were just brilliant last year but its so difficult to maintain those levels. Armagh were disappointing against Donegal but I still believe they are a good side. They need to go back to their direct style of play which they abandoned in Ballybofey. I believe this will be a 1 point game either way. Too close to call

Any injuries in either camp or are both at full strength? Greengrass (Louth) - Posts: 6178 - 01/06/2022 17:24:03 2421652 Link 0 |
I'm expecting a big response from Tyrone. Very good qualifier record or be it that was with Harte. Armagh have lost their spark since midway through the league, they were so far off the pace against a very beatable Donegal. Gaa_lover (USA) - Posts: 3610 - 01/06/2022 18:00:39 2421670 Link 0 |
Tyrone isn't serious about winning an All Ireland in 2022. They say they are, obviously, but their lack of ambition is so obvious in how they've conducted themselves all year. If you're really focussed on an AI win, you won't get sent off for silly, self-indulgent fouls. Tyrone always underachieves massively in the year following an All-Ireland win. And of course, while nobody's saying it out loud, of course there has been bad blood in the camp. Tyrone is a team where, if you're a big-name player, you will get umpteen starts, regardless of form in training. The fairest managers, such as Jim Gavin, select primarily on form in training. You don't lose 7 players by accident. essmac (Tyrone) - Posts: 1141 - 01/06/2022 18:04:33 2421673 Link 0 |
Unfortunately we are without Ciaran Mackin, Tiernan Kelly and Niall Grimley. All starters and big physical men. It leaves our bench thin but Tyrone have a similar issue with their men who left the panel this year. I think they might be down a midfielder also for red card in Derry game - not sure if this was overturned?

Ref could be the difference either way.

If gossip/reports are anything to go by not everyone in the Tyrone camp are singing from the same hymnsheet. Its going to be extremely interesting to see whose on the Tyrone panel for Sunday. Theyre either going to be magnificent or a flop. What a pity because they were so brilliant in their last 3 championship matches last year. They have some fantastic footballers. Armagh put so much into the league that it's cost them I do believe. . border Gael (Monaghan) - Posts: 910 - 02/06/2022 20:42:02 2421869 Link 0 |
Great win for us - much better than we were against Donegal (we made them look good - they're bang average) Tyrone were very poor though - all doesn't seem right in that camp. ardmhacha (Armagh) - Posts: 172 - 05/06/2022 15:31:46 2422431 Link 0 |
If we are bang average why did we beat you by 7 points even after blazing a heap of wides in the first half. You're good craic.

Words that Donegal would be delighted to read, yes we were poor but they don't become a bad team with one defeat. Delighted with today's result/performance, real team effort and such a sense of emotion with the minutes applause for the Harte/McAreavey families before throw in. sean og (Armagh) - Posts: 1072 - 05/06/2022 15:55:21 2422451 Link 0 |
All mightn't be right but Armagh were well worthy of their win. 6 point win could and maybe should have been double that. Glad to see the 27th minute applause from everyone in the ground compared to other gatherings. Well done Armagh and good luck for rest of year.

Calm down lad - just my opinion. Dublin and Kerry way out, then Mayo and Tyrone (when they've their heads right) then the rest of the div 1 sides including yourselves, ourselves and a couple of other div 2 sides in the bang average category. That's what I think anyhow.

Not a bad team Sean Og but in the average grouping with ourselves - we definitely made them look better than they are. Yes, minutes applause was unreal - thoughts with Harte and McAreavey families. ardmhacha (Armagh) - Posts: 172 - 05/06/2022 16:37:48 2422462 Link 0 |
I'm more than calm I can assure you. Good win for you today. Don't agree with the rest but time will tell.

Thought we'd see a big reaction from Tyrone but they were as flat as the Derry match. Tyrone worst defence of their All Ireland title since 2006 when beaten by laois in round 2. Gaa_lover (USA) - Posts: 3610 - 05/06/2022 16:55:22 2422473 Link 1 |
Tyrone were so poor but Armagh kicked some lovely scores and showed some fabulous high fielding. Great to watch. Also happy for Geezer. Daith (Kildare) - Posts: 1172 - 05/06/2022 16:55:55 2422474 Link 0 |
Armagh look like the real deal to me, they can run it or kick it, and won't be found wanting in the rough and tumble department, It will take a very good team to stop them giveitlong (Galway) - Posts: 1278 - 05/06/2022 18:57:00 2422530 Link 0 |
