It's an Ireland final for U20s whose next step hopefully is senior teams. Why should it not be in Croke Park? Is that not our headquarters, every young players dream is to play there? Very disappointing for the players of both teams. However, important Kildare management park this now and concentrate on winning the All-Ireland, they don't come around that often for us. The issue is you don't want to be playing an All Ireland final as a curtain raiser to two provincial Semi Finals. There was no way that the senior games would have been a curtain raiser to the u20 final either which is understandable. As empty as Croke Pk will be on Sunday it would have emptied a lot more before the u20's game. Having it in Croker on the Saturday wouldn't have worked either as a standalone game. It was always going to be located as much as possible half way between both counties. To be fair, Kildare seniors play the following day so 2 days of travelling and expenses are having to be incurred.
