Kerry kept with Wexford for the first 25 minutes was only 7pts to 6pts, but the effort that Kerry put in against Antrim in the second half of the Joe McDonagh final, I could see Kerry tiring against Wexford. I know the Kerry and Antrims were out for drinks after their final too and rightly so. Same thing happened to Antrim v Cork in second half. Really poor form from the GAA to expect the second tier teams to play well rested top tier counties 7 days later after a draining McDonagh final and expect a huge performance. Lip service comes to mind. Past hurler (None) - Posts: 926 - 13/06/2022 10:07:09 2424474 Link 0 |
Ah no. The top tier counties often had to play a few games week after week over the last 5 years unless they won a provincial title. And even then the roundrobins are week on week with 1 break. It's because there was a demand for more games while at the same time a demand for club games to have more certainty. Top tier counties have an advantage in S and C done and also more good players generally so can rotate more. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 15746 - 13/06/2022 10:20:30 2424481 Link 0 |

Kerry v Laois? We beat Laois by around the same as we beat Kerry. So you would imagine it would've been alot closer. And while Tipp beat Antrim handy in the League Antrim rested most of their 1st team.

Wexford v Laois?? With respect to Laois , wexford beat them by 27 points in the round robin a few weeks ago. I honestly can't understand your logic Would you like to see laois been humiliated again!!! Samson55 (Wexford) - Posts: 103 - 13/06/2022 10:24:28 2424486 Link 0 |
Antrim had the Division 1 experience to give Cork a good game. The pandemic scheduling denied Kerry a preliminary quarter-final in the last 2 years. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 8788 - 13/06/2022 11:07:00 2424515 Link 0 |
Definitely. Maybe they can change this for next year.
