Wonder will any Clare players be done for striking after this weekend? Got away with another one in Q Final and of course the 2 boys in Munster final also.

Replying To Oldtourman:  "I don't know about this year but what the record attendance for a Kilkenny County Final?. I attended a Cork County Final in '76 and the turnout was 36, 000 and a few more exceeded the 30, 000 mark. In my home county, by contrast, we seldom get over 6,000."
The days of the Cork county hurling final attracting an attendance of 36k or anything near that are long gone. I dont know but if they are getting attendances that go into 5 figures they are doing very well. A Galway county hurling final would get a crowd of between 7 and 9 thousand

Thats really sad, Is that all your worried about?
I'm personally looking forward to a cracker of a game like the majority of Hurling fans.

Replying To tiobraid:  "Cork beat limerick by 7 points in that group. Did that show there was also a significant gap between the two of those teams? The narrative is that Tipp were lucky to win that all Ireland but limerick failed to beat teams that Tipp beat comfortably that year. People forget that Tipp beat Cork by 7, waterford by 18 and Clare by 13 before coming from being well beaten by wexford to win by 2 and beating Kk by 14 in the final. Much of what people seem to remember that year is the two underwhelming performances against Laois and Limerick.
Up to the Munster final that year most people were saying Tipp were playing their best ever hurling. I don't think any team has gone through the group stages with as comfortable of wins. It's easy forget how convincing Tipp won a lot of those matches and how most could genuinely not separate Noel, Ronan or Seamie for hurler of the year. To the best of my knowledge Sean Finn was limericks only all star that year. At that time limerick were a really good team but inconsistent and incorrect to suggest they would have easily beat Tipp in the final. A team that's miles ahead of everyone doesn't lose that many games."
You can ignore that Cork result in '19. They whipped Tipps ass in '10, Clares in '13 and Waterfords in '17 and in any of them years went nowhere after. For the past ten years, Cork always seem to be capable of one giant killing act almost every year, but doing damn all after. Witness the Waterford game this year.
Your argument that Tipp would have definitely beaten Limerick in a Final hardly stands up. In each of the past five years Limerick have beaten Tipp fairly comprehensively, in the Munster Championship, when it really mattered. They are the only team to have ever done this to Tipp five years in a row. With a much inferior side they also beat Tipp with many of the '19 Stars in their heyday, in '13 and 14.

To be fair I could never understand how Noel McGrath was in the running for hurler of the year then. Being pulled off at half time in the Munster final and still being touted in the top 3 hurlers that year made no sense

Yes you are correct. You either get your kicks from the excitement and competitiveness of the sport or from the controversies that unfortunately can occur. My guess if it is the latter you probably have no interest in the sport.

Some great games this year but the question remains. Why can't the hurling fraternity fill out Croke Park for an All Ireland semi final? Plenty of big empty spaces today. Now I know accommodation in Dublin is sky high but still, poor enough crowd.

Too many wides for Clare so far. Kilkenny hurling them off the pitch. If Clare don't wake up soon it will be a route.

Kilkenny 14 points up at half-time and the Clare forwards are not getting a sniff of the ball - maybe Galway were not so bad after all in the Leinster final.

Very poor game so far, with only one team in it. KK winning every breaking ball, high ball, with Clare pulled all over the park leaving holes in their defense you could drive a bus through.

If Clare doesn't get its act together this will be over before we get to the fourth quarter.

Croke Park was never sold out for semi finals when both were played same afternoon so hardly expect it to sell out today and no curtain raiser.

In fairness - Clare are dire. Galway another team of shapers. Limerick a different animal and won't take any s***e in the final..
