Replying To Trump2020:  "Obviously Limerick should be favorites over Galway and I have no problem with that as they fully deserve that. Limerick would be favorites over anyone so it's a moot point. I'm happy that we are in the semifinals as it means we have a chance. Galway haven't put together a dominant performance in a while so I feel they are kind of due. I'm hoping for the upset and a Galway v Clare final. Galway Abu!"
wouldnt agree regards galway finding a dominant performance for the semi final ....galway are not playing well and have stumbled inro a semi final not sure how a team can turn it around in 2 weeks and play out of their skin. if limerick bring their A game which they have done consistently for the last 3 years i can only see one winner.

What about keyboard warriors?

Absolutely. The game is there for the winning and once you have a place in a semi final, there's always a chance of making the final. Good luck.

He'd hardly go with Monaghan and Glennon midfield, J.Cooney C Mannion J Flynn half forward line, B Concannon C Cooney C Whelan full forward line?
That midfield have speed and that half forward line are all big physical skillfull hurlers.

Agree with you. Have seen nothing from Galway to say they can give Limerick a good game, let alone turn them over.

No argument from me but all I'm saying is Galway haven't clicked yet and yet somehow they're in the semis. You never know.

Lets be honest it would take one of the following two things or maybe both. Limerick to collapse or Galway to play out of their skins. That is not being disrespectful to Galway and I don't think you Limerick people are being coy either just looking at facts realistically.
On the other side the cats unlike Galway have a habit of winning and sometimes when they maybe should not. Clare in my opinion are a better team but the assignment is much more difficult.

Replying To tiobraid:  "Its amazing if true. Despite getting to a final last year and quarter this year, they seem further away than ever under the current regime. Coupled that with seeing Cadogan on the bench all year, presumably because he doesnt fit into the system, moving your number 5 to 13 mid chsip and watching a player you dropped for the previous season miss free after free. Also fails to recognisehis son is regulalry in the best 6 forwards in the county. Drops your best midfielder of 2021 and brings him back in from the cold - only to make Cork competitive again.

I've never watched a more frustrating team than the Cork of 2021 and most of 2022. 80% of all passes going backwards and never letting the ball in direct to the full forward line. It eventually changed to a degree but was too late. I also find it fascinating that the two goalies are brothers and from the same club - really strange in my opinion. At this stage its very likely that Cork will go 20 years without an All Ireland. They've a young team so the sensible thing would be to bite the bullet now and give someone a proper chance at it."
The fact is the vast majority of that Cork team either started or were subs in '18 and except for Joyce, - so you can hardly say they are a young team- and there seems to be little young talent coming through. In '18 they were six points up after 62 minutes, but with all the short hand passing and running they had done, I felt they had to run out of steam- which they did. Their style has not changed much since then.

Limerick have almost an identical team from 2018 and I'd still consider them a young team too.

Most of that Limerick team were serious prospects, with a winning history behind them, by the time they were 22 or 23. Now you could hardly say that about this Cork team. The last two National Finals they have played in, they have collapsed and this year Clare and Limerick both steamrolled them in the Munster Championship. They may have a winning future, but I earnestly doubt it. Some of their best players like Damien Cahalane, Seamus Harnedy and Allan Cadogan will be 30 or more next year and several of them will be in their Mid to Late Twenties, without having set the hills on fire.

Well there's an old saying that nothing changes if nothing changes. Cork are the epitome of this. A lot of very average players on that squad that aren't up to it and a management team with no learning curve whatsoever. Its sad really.

I think you misunderstood what I said. Also, I dont know how you could name those 3 out as their best players!
Fitzgibbon, Coleman, Meade, Kingston, Joyce and most of the rest are 25 or under - that to be is on the young side. My point was that with a new manager there is room for improvement in all of these players and I dont think Kingston tactics is working. I never suggested they would dominate or win All Irelands.
With all due respect, I dont think the Limerick team were seen as a young team who could go on to dominate the game the way they have and will continue to do. Many called that a lot of the Tipp U21 team could be part of a Tipp team that could dominate the decade (they didnt) but no one called that Limerick would dominate, so I think your assessment is inaccurate but also think you misinterpreted my point.

Hoping hurling can take centre stage again this weekend after the epic game of football yesterday. I might upset a few Galway people again now but...

Limerick to win by 8
Clare to win by 2

I just cant see Galway scoring enough against this Limerick backline. In the other game I think its going to be close. If Clare play to Munster final level they'll win in my opinion but no so sure they will. Wouldnt rule out extra time in this one.

The 5 lads you named as being Corks best lads under 25 would likely not make it onto the current Limerick team. And would likely not make it onto the Limerick team for the next few years. So you are proving Oldtourmans point there Tiobraid.

I think it's a fair observation and prediction by you to be honest. Limerick deserve the Favorites tag as they have earned it. This current Galway team hasn't. The other match has my head spinning. Tough to call. Anyway my predictions are: Limerick by 3 points and Kilkenny by 1 point. I really hope I'm wrong in both matches as I'd love a Galway v Clare All Ireland. Galway Abu!
