Yes they look a class of all the teams this weekend.

I'm aware of that. Neither team setting the world alight is what I meant. Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3496 - 17/04/2022 17:43:38 2411365 Link 0 |
Cork limerick was totally different level to any other game so far. Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3496 - 17/04/2022 17:50:35 2411368 Link 0 |
Limerick looking as good as ever and a few more gears to go through yet. I know it's very early but it's hard to see any other county in the same ballpark let's be honest here. Richardkimble (Laois) - Posts: 39 - 17/04/2022 18:02:00 2411374 Link 1 |
Yes the League didn't matter. Limerick well primed for an assault on the 3 in a row.

Should be going for 5 in a row only for Kilkenny in 2019.

He left a lot of Galway fouling go in the 1st half. It was slow out of our lads to wake up to what he was permitting. It was after half time before our lads started playing the same style "tackling". Jack Grealish would've been sent off for persistent fouling by many other refs before halftime. And yet there are posters on this who claim to be from Galway who have spent most of the last 4 years whingeing about how Limerick play when Galway got 5 or 6 lads booked by the easiest going ref on fouling I've ever seen. In fairness to the ref he was consistent. When our backs started playing in the 2nd half the same as Galways did in the 1st half he let them off too.

You weren't as sharp as you were in the League semi and final though Canuck.

Yes. Great team. Hope they do the 3 in a row if we don't win it! Which BTW I don't think we will.

As good and all a player Hoggie has been, why is he rarely taken off. Did sweet FA today apart from frees. Kingston would have been far better off bringing on another young lad for experience instead of leaving him on.

Unfortunately I think it's more a case of limerick switching on instead of Cork switching off. We saw it in the Munster final last year,, if they smell a loss coming they'll just move through the gears and disappear over the horizon. And there's cadogan on the bench twiddling his thumbs. Makes you wonder.

Limerick's display was awesome, Mike Casey back to his 2018 best, Sean Finn heading for all time greatness as a corner back, Diarmuid Byrnes scored 5/6 fantastic points, could go on, looked like they were playing within themselves too, Kiely and Kinnerk look to have them in prime condition. Their physicality is awesome and disciplined too Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 2116 - 17/04/2022 21:21:44 2411431 Link 0 |
Great display from limerick after first 5 mins..really looking forward to next Saturday when what looks like the 2 best teams meet in the first of possibly 3 meetings this year..I'd have to ask serious questions of cork management..still havnt got a full or center back, and have possibly ruined Coleman who was an outstanding half back..hoggie has been a great servant but his overall display in last couple of matches has been dismal..he's a free taker and it looks ridiculous going back 100 meters and sending ball wide..harnedy if fit to come on was surely fit to start..if as reported he was sick then he probably shouldn't have been involved at all..how had jack o Connor gone so far down the pecking order?i also love playing cork when Shane kingston isn't on the field as he is a very dangerous forward..maybe cork will make me eat my words but on today's showing I doubt it..thoroughly enjoying limerick hurling and please give us plenty more of these days.. Fairly predictable results today and sets both teams up well for remaining games in Munster championship. tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 17/04/2022 22:03:21 2411438 Link 0 |
Kingston and Cork management have a big decision to make with Patrick Horgan. He is giving them nothing from open play, unfortunately for him it looks like time has caught up on him. Cork seem more interested in him been the top scorer of all time. Unfortunately for him the championship is no place for sentiment.

Well done to Liam Sheedy for calling out the madness of penalising Cooney for that free in injury time on Saturday. When Lee Chin spent even longer lining up!! ahsure. (Galway) - Posts: 1654 - 18/04/2022 10:27:23 2411466 Link 5 |
Sheedy missed the point. Cooney didnt get the free overturned for how many exact seconds he took. It was overturned for time wasting when in front. Unsportsmanlike conduct more specifically. Which couldn't apply to Chins free however long he took as Wexford were behind and everyone knew it was the last meaningful puck of the game.
