Replying To baire:  "I have suggested replacing the smaller competitions with the traditional Leinster and Munster championships. The biggest 'local rivalries' were and will always be in the club championship."
Why exactly Baire? What is the aim of any changes you would like to see made? Arent there enough championship matches already? The League is a handy warm up tournament and attracts fair crowds down here. It's great to see the team in action from January onwards. Think there needs to be a longer break between League and Championship though.

At this stage Viking I have written enough about it and have made my position quite clear.

I read back your posts and there's some waffle about parity of esteem, Connacht referees and renaming the Leinster championship to suit counties that aren't even in Leinster. Quite how replacing the League and pre season competitions with Provincial Championships achieves that goal is too great a leap for me.

Indeed Viking, he has written enough (and too much) at this stage. Please don't be encouraging him to pen any further waffle.

I think that could have happened in the semifinal. I think Limerick will have learned a lot from both semi finals and will improve a lot from the Galway clash. So a Limerick win for me. Hope it's a good game either way and best of luck to all.

As long as we can handle the Limerick forwards as Galway did, we'll cruise home. Hegarty hardly touched a ball against Galway, and 2 points Galway got were reversed by Hawkeye. I think we can win well here, we are on an upward curve. Here's to the beginning of drive for 5.

Hurler of the year odds puts it as a 5 horse race with Gillane, Byrnes, TJ, Nash and Mullen (in that order) well ahead of the rest.
Glad to see there is a little bit of sense with the odds this year and that Nash is finally getting recognised. A man of the match performace by any could swing it. Have been critical of Gillane, Byrnes and Mullen in the past - Gillane with his free taking and other non playing the ball stuff, Byrnes with his shooting from both frees and play (his conversion rate was not always this good) and Mullen to a lesser extent with his shooting. Have got to say all 3 have been unreal this year and Gillane and Byrnes in particular are getting stronger year on year.

Didn't Galway knock Cork out at Semple Stadium? I'm pretty sure that's what happened and I was there watching the game sober!!!

What a faux pas, Rockies? God a seven-year-old child wouldn't even make it. First, it shows that you operate two accounts on here. Second, it is clear that you hate to see Limerick winning.

"Off traveling", from your 'Rockies' account, yes! And who wouldn't blame you, after your huge faux pas. Your credibility is completely shot, so your posts would only amount to the posts of a fool that we'd all laugh at (I've always treated your posts as such anyway).

However, I'm sure that unfortunately you'll still be lurking around in your other forum guise and posting from your second account.

Absolutely agree. This topic was 18th on the list of forum topics. Yet the AI is 5 days away. No build up or excitement. 2 weeks isn't enough when all of last weekend is football semi finals. The calendar needs to be tweaked next year with 3 weeks between the semi and final and give the hurling 2 weeks after the football semi finals for the build up.
