Not sure how O'Neill gets out of that one but anyway, time to draw a line in the sand now on the matter, at least for a few weeks! The decision is made, unlikely to change. Will be interesting to see how both teams adapt to the loss of personnel. Maybe Paul Brennan for McFadden Ferry, couldn't see McGee starting anyway. On the face of it, the bans affect Armagh more because they have 3 players who were likely starters out now. I'm sure it'll stir them up for the game ahead. Armagh have definitely come off worse facing into the championship clash. They are 3 big players for them. McGee probably wouldn't have even started for Donegal.

No suprise the two Donegal players are from ther same Club, nothing changes . jacktheboy (Donegal) - Posts: 450 - 30/03/2022 18:50:23 2408492 Link 1 |
Bans issued and definitely more detrimental to Armagh with only 1 starter and an OAP sub potentially missing out for Donegal. Disappointed that our lads fell into the trap on Sunday but they'll learn. Should be good battle in a couple of weeks. ardmhacha (Armagh) - Posts: 172 - 30/03/2022 19:04:44 2408494 Link 0 |
Or maybe happy to see they won't back down from a challenge. The row is over. Disciplinary action to be taken. Move on.

Pretending to be from other counties to post muck on hoganstand? stamping on a man when he's on the ground?that's the behaviour you can expect from Armagh men these days.

I thought that suspensions incurred in league didn't carryover to championship, but rather to next year's league games? Rockies (Cork) - Posts: 947 - 31/03/2022 09:02:11 2408529 Link 0 |
In any of these types of scenarios no side is innocent. Both teams were culpable and some suspensions were inevitable. I hope the whole thing doesn't turn into a circus now with appeals to the DRA, the CCCCCCCCCCC, the Court of Human Rights, bla bla bla. Why embarrassed? How would you describe it?

Think some of our posters need to not take things so serious, it was a nonsense row and the stamp on Michael is nasty but it's not inherent to Armagh or Armagh people. I always enjoy the craic with Armagh fans even the years where we just couldn't beat them and when we got that championship win in Ballybofey with Cass's last minute goal I remember them being as gracious and wishing us well. So I don't like this chat of "typical of Armagh men" and all the rest. It's not Tyrone we're talking about like ;-) (only joking before any Tyrone folks come after me!) Does someone need a hug?

In fairness it wasn't great to see, but from a Donegal point of view, our lads stood their ground and we weren't bullied. Wexford can't say that after their abysmal showing on Sunday when your crowd went hiding against Waterford, and what about the cowardly act of a player throwing a hurl at goalkeeper.

Donegal men definitely do not need any more 'hugs' from Armagh men Hopefully everyone sticks to the football in 4 weeks. Al_Maguire (Donegal) - Posts: 257 - 31/03/2022 11:31:20 2408594 Link 0 |
Anyone got the link for the mutual discussion rather than reading this Donegal forum?? Looks like Donegal set it up to try and get armagh men suspended for the championship!! Sounds like they fear armagh

I doubt a Hoganstand forum would get anyone suspended now. It's done and dusted now, looking forward to the game in 3/4 weeks, should be an exciting one.

I'd describe your contribution as using cringeworthy terminology, lazy stereotypes and minimal actual dissection of the incident being discussed.

ehmmmm - Donegal have 2 players suspended I think if you're looking for blame for people 'trying to get people suspended' maybe 1. Start with the players themselves 2. Talk to RTE and their panel League Sunday who only talked about it being 'more than a scuffle and players should be suspended' in their post 'match' analysis, and ignored the match altogether. 3. Take it up with the Tyrone man who started the thread that rightfully wanted to see consistency applied as his team bore the brunt on suspension in the last shemozzle that Armagh were involved in. But maybe you're right. We are so afraid of Armagh we have jumped on a post started by a Tyrone man that has no bearing whatsoever on the CCCs decision to grant suspensions If this thread made any difference, there'd be different players suspended on both sides for the start Carry on with your paranoia though instead of accepting responsibility for actions. This is not a Donegal forum. We don't have one it's open to any county. Never seen as many first posts in one week.
