It is all well be good being there and getting personal records by coming on for ten minutes a game but that isn't much use to the Laois senior team. It doesn't install much confidence on young lads trying to break through every year and seeing a place being taken by a lad that should have retired a long time ago. No begrudgery here. Just making a point from my own observations and that of the reaction of some Laois people in Portlaoise yesterday. Out of those series of managers in the last ten years how many used him in a meaningful manner other than a sub in the last few minutes of a game when there was nothing to play for. Scored 7 points v Dublin ( 5 from play ) in 2014 leinster championship, which was in the last 10 years if I'm not mistaken.
