Us! Seriously any 1 of 4 teams. Sneaky suspicion this could be Dublins year if they keep all their main men fit and available. But any 1 of 4 teams could win it it's way too early to predict what a teams form and personnel are going to be come championship.

First, let's see how the League goes. Though, I don't think there'll be much between Dublin, Galway, Kilkenny and Wexford when Leinster starts.

Despite last weekend's hammering from Dublin, I'd still think Galway mght be the team to beat. However, I agree that it's too early to be making confident predictions. midlands (Westmeath) - Posts: 532 - 20/01/2022 11:27:26 2395711 Link 0 |
Hard to say when I have no idea who will even play for Galway. No idea what their team will look like.

its either Dublin or Kilkenny. We dont have either of their numbers when it turns to championship, and i am making that assessment on how this Galway team have preformed in the last 2 years, minus retired players and what is coming through.

It's Janaury so its impossible to know but hard to see past Kilkenny. Primarily due to Wexford taking a punt on an extremely inexperienced and rookie manager who has little or no experience of managment at any level. If Davy couldnt pull of a Leinster the last two years then its hard to see Egan doing much I'm afraid. Galway have certainly regressed substantially and are at the start of a complete rebuilding phase and have major issues with a goalie, two corner backs and a centre back. Dublin have improved but its only a short while ago that a lot of people said Mattie Kenny didnt know what he's at - a few results seems to have completely flipped most peoples opinions. Kk are far from the Kk of old but currently I'd have them ahead. tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 20/01/2022 12:16:41 2395727 Link 0 |
Looks very open at the moment, taught Galway were primed to be the team best equipped to challenge Limerick last year but was hard to fathom how off the pace they were against Dublin and same for 55 mins against Waterford, the project with Shefflin with be fascinating . Home advantage could play a big part has tended to do so in provincial round robins since 2018, Dublin are formidable in Parnell but have struggled on the road, they've KK in a Parnell and are travelling to Wexford and Salthill. bostonredsox (Wexford) - Posts: 4368 - 20/01/2022 12:36:34 2395729 Link 0 |
Darragh is inexperienced as a manager but we're hoping the 3 years in Sheedy's set up will stand to him, I know Liam Cahill had underage intercounty experience but look at the job he's done in his 1st stint at this level. You have to start somewhere.

A lot of people in wexford are looking forward to what darragh Egan brings to table style wise. I can see Conor Mac being the main beneficiary under the new manager. Great to have Paudie Foley back as well. I agree with previous posters about there being very little between the supposed big 4 and very difficult to call a winner so in those circumstances I'd go for the tried and trusted Kilkenny

Kilkenny, Wexford, Dublin and Galway all capable of beating one another on the day, Home ground definitely be a factor. Could be same as the year it went down to the last minute when Galway i think were favourites or second favourites to win All Ireland that morning and gone by 8 o'clock. And hopefully for the rest of us that would be one of the 18 Cheltenham bumpers he didnt win rather than 1 of the 11 he did!

Hadn't even realised his hit rate was that high! Dublin must be like the horse trained by Major Wilbert Oglesby in his back garden at Hexham. form figures: PP9000Pr/o9PPUP7 BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 2466 - 21/01/2022 15:02:14 2395881 Link 0 |

hard one to call as the standard in leinster has slipped a lot ........wexford havnt won a game of note in leinster for nearly 3 years ( excluding the facile win over laois last year). galway another team with a lot of ground to make up after a terrible year last year. kilkenny are still ktlenny hard to beat. dublin seem to have improved a bit and im going for dublin to win leinster. munsterchamps (Limerick) - Posts: 1089 - 22/01/2022 15:05:53 2395951 Link 1 |
