Beggan will go down as one of the Monaghan greats. He will always be held in high regard in Monaghan. He's up there with the likes of MCmanus, the freeman brothers, Paul Finlay, Rory woods and Nicholas Corrigan

People are constantly giving out about the admission fees to GAA games. You could not put a monetary value of that game yesterday evening. That game will never be forgotten. It was cruel on Derry but sport is cruel sometimes.

Replying To seanie08:  "Keep hearing about the derry middle eight and how we just wont be able to compete there. Its a game we desperately could do with a fit Gary Mohan to throw his weight around in but he ain't fit and we gotta go with what we have. The one posituve am taking pre match is the fact we are being written off by everyone. Its got that feel I like coming up to a monaghan match. We are going in with a bit of a chip on the shoulder here derry are already in the final according to everyone. So zero pressure on the lads all on Derry."
I love an old chip on the shoulder makes mountains out of men. Hate being favourites and talked up. It doesnt suit our mentality. Mccaul coming on changed that game as derry had to retreat with Glass to cover their full back. He was unlucky not to have two goals. Write this group of monaghan players off at your peril. Special mention to stephen o hanlon he ran himself into the ground to mark ethan Doherty derrys best player and still managed to win that sideline. Bring on the ulster final.

Wow - just wow.

Hats off to the Monaghan team yesterday.

And what a score by Jack McCarron. Unbelievable.

Yes Nicholas was a serious man for Monaghan in the noughties. You might be too young to remember. I wonder will Gabriel let the lads have a few pints last night and all day today? Might be a good idea to let the boys blow off some steam and get back into training Wednesday or Thursday. Too much training could be damaging.

Good sensible post, fair play. It would be some Ulster to win now.

Looking ahead. No point beating about the bush. We are huge underdogs in two weeks but nothing new there suits us. Think for my money armagh are in top 3 sides in Ireland a great side who could easily be going for 4 ulsters in a row but their last two games this championship were virtual training sessions against a div 4 side and a Down side who were spent after beating donegal a sesmic win. That said if we play the first half like we did v Derry we ain't coming back. Despite the win that first half was a worry we made Derry look like Kerry. Armagh are few levels above Derry so we have to tighten up defensively and stop their runners. In the league match they could score at will with running attacking play. Most of their scores are % plays really well coached side so we gotta disrupt that and get in their faces dragging them into a game they don't want to play play to our strengths. Tyrone done that and almost got the win. Mcgeeney isnt wrong we won't fear them never have with armagh. Do we have 70 minutes of manic intensity in us well need it in spades. Think theres a massive performance in us hopefully.

We are in a very good place going into the final against the "nearly men" of Ulster football. Do not have the blinkers on
