At the April county board meeting, two weeks time I'd guess.

Would expect 20s to win, based on the Kildare result , and Kildare's win over Wexford.
Minor is hard to know. It's very rare we beat Meath at that level. 7 or 8 of the named team were on a Mullingar CBS u-16 team that lost narrowly to Pat's Navan a few weeks ago. I imagine Pat's would have at least the same number on the Meath team.

Meath unquestionably favourites, Pat's Navan won Leinster Junior, a good indicator, the Louth game the key one for Westmeath to progress.

Any word on Under 20s?

Good win last night by the 20's. What's the story with MacNamara and Leech are they both injured? They'll be some additions for the knockouts if they're due back soon.

Good to get a the win but it wasn't a pretty performance.

Away QF next against a very strong Meath team that lost last night to Laois. This Meath team has been really talked up by the Meath people all year.

I think it's unfair that the game is away? We won our group surely we should be rewarded for winning our group?

Yes; I'm very surprised it's away as Westmeath topped their group. Anyone know how Whittaker's injury is? Looked like he pulled a hamstring which I expect would rule him out of next week.

Agree a home fixture should have been the reward for topping your group, Matthew Whittaker will be a big loss, he scored 0-5 last night.

If you want to use leinster junior as an indicator , CBS werent far off Pats Navan in the semi final, four points in it. Callum Dolan (Lomans ), Jack Murtagh (Downs), Leech (Killucan), Eoin Conlan (Shandonagh) , Matty Thorton (Multy), Ryan Kelly (Shamrocks) , John Casey (Lomans), Conor Daly (Downs) and Oisin O Hara (Lomans) were part of CBS team. Big Meath midfielder Cian Commons will be a physical test, also Billy Smyth and Ben Corkery played for Pats scoring 2-5 out of 2-9 between them. Daire O Connor and Keelan Connelly Tubberclair and Aodhan Curran Moate played Leinster Senior Colleges this year. Im hearing massive work has gone into the development of this Westmeath squad, well done to all involved and best of luck.

Condensed Leinster campaign taking its toll on 20s unfortunately, likely to be without Matty Whittaker, Sean Leech and Ronan Hanly for Meath match, serious losses and all forwards, Whittaker unlikely to be back for rest of competition apparently, he's been outstanding in terms of scoring in both games, Senior management were surely considering him for Louth.

Great win by the u20s last night in not great playing conditions-Whittaker wil be a huge loss going forward if not available-very talented young player-also Senan Baker is now very much a marked player-ive seen all his games this year both senior and u20 for Westmeath and he is taking sime serious treatment both on and off the ball-a reward for his serious talent no doubt!!.Also dont understand why game against Meath is not a home game.

Whittaker is a big loss if hes out. What injury has he? Also Hanley is a fine player . I wouldnt mind where we play Meath, well play better away.

U17s beaten by Meath lastnight in Kinnegad in first round of Leinster group stages . Anyone at it? Who have they next?

Was at most of the 2nd half, conceded the 2nd goal at a crucial stage when we were only a point down, chased the game and instead of kicking points kicked poor ball in looking for goals. We're a decent team though

I was at the game.
Minors got it all tactically wrong in my opinion,Meath were a big side. We didn't win 1 of the Meaths Kickouts ,had no system at all. We kicked long on all our kick outs and probably won about 50%.

Played Casey as a sweeper and did ok but we were 3 points down with 5 to go and he was still sweeping. A game Westmeath could have won if pushed up on kickouts and went 15 on 15 in the last 20.

Strange to see only 1 Tubberclare player on the team after winning a championship and probably favourites to do it again this year.

The Moate contingent all did very well and cully had a good second half. Ryan kelly never touched the ball and strange to see him left on.
Westmeath needed more bulk around the middle due to the fact they just kicked long.

How do you add more bulk? Facts are our side is small in stature, best forwards were smallest players, Meath had 3-4 of the biggest players on the pitch, agree that sweeper system should be looked at, Meath keeper had an armchair ride for the 60 mins. Defenders could have been more cynical for goals.
