Maguire, Wallace, McCartan, O Toole and Dolan are the only ones that deserve a gong. Maybe Heslin.
O Toole = TC POTY by a country mile.

Semi finals next weekend, the senior is nailed on for a Lomans-Downs final.
Intermediate tricky to call, I think St Marys will just get over Tubberclare & Shandonagh to pip Milltown.
In Junior, Bun to take Garrycastle, Multy-Downs will be very close with Multy to just shade it.

Heslin should get one for his scoring exploits. Smith and Lynch had a great final and were very good in semi final too. Cavan will get 3 or 4, probably goalkeeper and wing back Smith.

Definitely would not write off Tyrrellspass. More experienced team than the Downs and will not fear them. Tyrrellspass will bring savage physicality. If they have everyone fit I expect them to win by 3 or 4 points.

Jack Smith was consistently excellent throughout Tailteann Cup, Kevin Maguire could lose out as he only played 2 games out of 4, personally I think he will get one, Smith should be guaranteed one.

Smith, Maguire, Wallace, McCartan, O'Toole and Heslin look fairly certain to me. Any more than that would be a bonus.

Agree here think Tpass will beat Downs by a few scores and maybe then they could beat Lomans. They are due a final win if they get there.

Can't agree on this. Tpass have missed the boat & are past their best. Should have won the final a couple of years ago. Downs are a lot younger & have way more depth in panel, will be the dominant team for the next 5/6 years. I expect them to win by 6/7 points & Lomans to beat Killucan by 10+.

Tyrrellspass currently available at 15-2 to win championship which is a fair indication of their chances. They've improved this year and certainly will trouble The Downs, they could even cause an upset but I'd give them zero chance versus Loman's in the final. Loman's could win by 15 points next Sunday, their sole focus is on this, Killucan hardly trained this week, missing Eoin Keyes and picked up knocks yesterday in hurling semi. The Downs getting back to full strength with Luke L, Charlie Drumm back, Conor Coughlan still doubtful. The Downs by 4.

Fancy Lomans to beat Killucan handlly enough.Other game is harder to call but I fancy Tyrellspass. If Luke Loughlin is fit and ready then Downs will have a big shout but if Flanagan starts and Gonoud/Lynam/Egan/McNicolas /Glennon and especially Harte fire then I think T/Pass might shade it.-will be close tho.

Athlone recommendations?
Heading down to Athlone for the weekend for a long overdue catch up with a couple of lads. Married Dads late 30s.
Obviously everyone's first line is Seán's Bar. Now we fully intend to leave money there, but is there anywhere else the good people on here would recommend with a good pint and a bit of life to mix it up a bit ?!

The Snug is just across the road from Sean's Bar, a good pint and lively atmosphere. If you want to venture to the east side of the town, just cross the bridge and down to your right is Gertie Brown's, an old style pub that serves food up to 9.00pm, I think.

Looking for a real gem of a pub in Athlone on Saturday evening try Flannery's on the east side down near Dunnes stores. Old style bar. Should have some music also.

Thanks a million Midlands, Wmeath2 and Captainfantastic. Appreciate that. All chalked down.
We're staying in the shamrock lodge hotel and intend to do some of the greenway Saturday at the crack of noon.

Post Covid now and you know yourselves - never the chance to do it as the weanlings are always hanging out of ya, where to get a few going out clothes? Going all out here!

Looks like Dessie Dolan about to be appointed as new senior boss with John Keane assistant. I'd expect to see Peter Tormey added to that backroom team.
